I am a 22 year old, full time firefighter/ emt with a bachelor degree in Spanish and Biology. I was a nanny prior to joining the fire service and have over 6 years of experience with newborns, infants, toddlers and school age kids. I absolutely love kids & decided I want to continue to babysit part time on my days off. I can help with things such as driving, tutoring, cooking, cleaning. My name is Valarie Getzie I was born in Nicaragua and came over to the United States eighteen years ago. First of all I had my first experience with senior non-medical caregiving in Tampa, Florida, I am actually offering light household services, listening ears and conversations. In the month of August 2006 we moved over to Tucson, Arizona and I volunteered at Rio Vista Elementary School at the Resources Office, helping students to improve their reading level and also in math, and after I´ve worked with Rosemont Community Church´s Children Program, as a lead teacher of their Truly Remarkable Children (TRC) After School Program. During these years I received at least 18 hours of training in Easterseals Early Childhood training program. During the last years I´ve been also working as a caregiver with Adultcare Assistance. I am a "military brat" with an Air Force mom and an Army dad...My mom outranked my Dad!!! After living with my family helping raise my granddaughter I went to work with Home Instead (VA, NY & AZ) and Visiting Angels (AZ). I moved here to AZ to care for my best friend in her final years battling Alzheimer's.
