To learn to distinguish good risks to take from harmful or dangerous risks. I want to encourage them to play hard, and I use kindness as a guiding principle in everything. I hope to help them build healthy confidence, knowing they are capable and can do hard things– and are able to ask for help. I value a healthy and age-appropriate transparency between child and adult, enough for children to know that adults aren’t perfect, and we don’t expect them to be perfect either.
