Hello everyone, my name is Sophia and I am currently a student at the University of South Florida! I am offering child care, senior care, pet care, and household services. I love babysitting and being around kids. I volunteer at an elementary school every week, providing tutoring services in English. Fostering educational and learning opportunities for children is important to me--I am open to providing tutoring services during babysitting shifts. Beside tutoring, I also am part of a subbing agency where I work with children from ages 1-5. I am dedicated to creating safe and comfortable environments for your children while you are away. I also have skills in cooking and crafting. I also have experience pet-sitting. Responsibilities included walking, feeding, bathing, and keeping company. I love all animals, but dogs and cats are most up my alley! I volunteer for a senior care agency, where I call seniors with chronic illnesses 2-3x a week to check up on their physical and mental health--fostering real relationships. I do not feel comfortable providing medical care. Responsibilities I would be open to provide: Driving, running errands, cooking, and spending time with them. I provide many household services: cooking, cleaning, laundry, organizing, etc. I will not be able to bring my own supplies, so they will need to be provided.

As a mother of a 21-year-old son now in college, I bring over two decades of hands-on experience in parenting, caregiving, and supporting children’s growth and development. Throughout my son’s childhood, I was actively involved in his school community as a “team mom,” field trip chaperone, classroom volunteer, and consistent presence at school and extracurricular events. Before and after my son’s birth, I worked with school-age children and daycare programs on military bases in Florida and New Mexico. I also have extensive experience providing babysitting support for families and friends, stepping in for both regular care and occasional coverage when needed. As a parent, I understand the importance of structure, consistency, and attention to individual household routines. I’m mindful of dietary needs, preferences, and any family-specific guidelines, and I always aim to create a balance between fun and structure while respecting each family’s expectations. I recognize that every household operates differently and adjust my approach accordingly. Parenthood has also taught me flexibility and calm problem-solving. I’m comfortable handling unexpected situations with patience and responsibility, addressing minor issues independently while keeping parents informed when something requires their attention. I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a focus on child and adolescent development, which strengthens my understanding of behavior, communication, and age-appropriate engagement. I genuinely enjoy working with children, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and positive interactions in a safe and supportive environment where they feel comfortable and cared for.

I come from a family with two younger siblings and two older siblings, so I’ve always been around and comfortable caring for children. I’ve also volunteered with children through dance and community programs. Living on my own for the past year has helped me become very responsible and independent, especially with cooking, cleaning, organizing, and managing multiple tasks at once. I’m outgoing, kind, patient, and dependable. I’m comfortable keeping children entertained while also making sure they are safe and supervised. I’m able to multitask, stay calm when things get busy, and complete responsibilities in a timely and safe manner. I’m also bilingual in English and Spanish and am comfortable caring for children of different ages and personalities.

I have a BSW (Bachelor of Social Work) from USF. I am a licensed Realtor . I like to stay busy and have volunteered for over 30 years with a local hospital. Since Covid, I am not longer doing that. My greatest joys in life are my two sons and six grandchildren. I am active and enjoy taking my grands to the park and the pool. I also enjoy helping home schooling them. I have volunteered at my church for years, often taking people to doctor appointments and chemo. I have my own car and am able to run errands if needed. I love cats and dogs. I enjoy walking dogs. The last dog I took care of, Sunny, needed long walks. We did 3 miles a day plus. This was in Idaho. Not sure that is practical in Tampa in the summer.
