Greetings Families, My name is Mikiyah, I’m 19, and I’m passionate about caring for others — whether it’s children, pets, or helping keep a home organized. I’m currently located in White Plains, Maryland, and I graduated from St. Charles High School, Class of 2024. I’m about to start my associate’s degree in health sciences to become a dental hygienist, and I’m also exploring creative outlets with social media content creation. I’ve worked with children my whole life and truly enjoy nurturing and supporting them. Growing up in a big family, I’ve always taken care of kids of all ages, which helped me develop patience, empathy, and a genuine love for helping others grow. My first job as a summer camp counselor in middle school sparked my passion for childcare, and in 2024, I worked as a children’s mentor/assistant at the College of Southern Maryland, guiding and supporting students in their learning and daily routines. I also understand the importance of caring for elders — I spent the last months of my great-grandmother’s life supporting her through illness, which taught me compassion, patience, and the importance of being attentive and reliable. While I haven’t formally pet-sat yet, I’ve loved and cared for animals my whole life. I recently lost my puppy unexpectedly, which strengthened my empathy and respect for animals — I know how much their lives and happiness matter. I treat every pet with love, patience, and attentiveness, and I’m eager to provide care for furry family members. Outside of work, I’m a creative and fun-loving person. I enjoy music, comedy, fashion, traveling, and experimenting in the kitchen — I love baking any sweet treat I can find a new recipe for! I’m an empath, so I deeply connect with the people and pets I care for, always aiming to make them feel safe, happy, and supported. Currently, I work at a bakery and deli, which has taught me responsibility, teamwork, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. I’m reliable, professional, and nurturing. Marisol spends a lot of time outside with him and keeps his active when indoors. She does not use her phone other than pictures while watching him and is always responsive to my check-in text messages.

I absolutely love working with children! I have been babysitting for six years now and have worked with all ages. I am more than willing to keep them entertained, especially when screens are off limits. I love anything creative, and I am also good at cooking if the little ones need a meal. I also love pets and have a dog of my own.
