I am a retired teacher, having worked with middle and high schoolers in the area of Language Arts for 38 years. Currently, I am a nanny, a substitute teacher, and a tutor for elementary students. My life has been spent helping children learn and grow, to my great enjoyment. I have an M.Ed. in Reading Education and am a National Board Certified teacher since 2000. One of my proudest career moments was being chosen as WRAL's Teacher of the Week on Dec. 2, 2015. I am mother to four adult sons (two adopted from Russia) and a grandmother to three grandchildren, ages 1, 4, and 8. I have served as a foster parent through Children's Home Society; every child deserves a safe, loving home. I have completed Child and Baby First Aid/ CPR/AED training through the American Red Cross. I am fully vaccinated! My strong points are my patience, creativity, and energy. Yes, I consider myself a young 70 year old! I am a non- smoker, love pets, and have reliable transportation. I enjoy baseball, traveling, reading, hiking, and antiquing. My recent trips have included France, Ireland, Scotland, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, and South Dakota. Hi! I’m Cassidy, a college student at NC State going into my junior year studying Nutritional Science and Business Administration on the pre-med track. I have been babysitting on and off for about four years, with most of my experience focused on kids ages 3 to 7. I also volunteer every Sunday at my church where I have cared for children ages 2 to 9 for the past three years. In addition to childcare, I have shadowed at multiple doctors’ offices and currently spend my semesters shadowing pediatric and family medicine doctors at UNC’s North Chatham Pediatrics & Internal Medicine. Through these experiences, I have gained hands-on exposure to patient care, including knowledge and experience in wound care and CPR. I love working with kids and feel confident handling a wide range of situations with patience and empathy. I also have experience caring for smaller dogs. I enjoy going on walks with them, playing, and making sure they are well fed. Additionally, I love talking to and helping seniors and have experience in senior patient care through my shadowing, as many of the patients I have seen have been older adults.
