I’ve helped raise my younger brother with an 8-year age gap, giving me real-life childcare experience. I’m dependable, calm, organized, and great with routines, homework support, meal prep, and keeping households running smoothly.
(New profile - waiting on reviews - can provide references) Hello! My name is Caroline, and I'm a writer and recent NYU graduate originally from Dallas, Texas now living in the North Williamsburg/South Greenpoint area. Willing to commute. I grew up as the 2nd oldest child (firstborn daughter) in a LARGE, multi-home blended family with animals constantly around, so I've been looking after other kids (and pets) since I was a kid myself :) I absolutely love working with kids because every day brings something new and rewarding—whether it’s seeing a child achieve a milestone or simply sharing a laugh. I have 8 years of regular caregiving experience for other families in both Texas and New York City. I've worked with children from infancy to high school age, including children with special needs/disabilities. I'm well-versed in sibling dynamics and open to providing hands-on care for 2-3 children at a time -- potentially more depending on the ages of the children and/or in nanny-share situations. I started babysitting at 14 during my high school years, which I spent serving my community as a peer mentor and "PAL" (peers in assistance, leadership, & service) for children who had ongoing personal hardships, suffered recent traumatic events, and/or were new to the school. I started working with kids of varied cognitive disabilities in grade school as apart of a volunteer special education program, so I am comfortable working with children who have differentiating physical and/or mental functionalities. I believe that play is one of the best ways for kids to learn and grow, so I love creating fun, imaginative activities that engage kids while helping them develop new skills. I'm happy to help with homework (bonus: I'm trilingual) in any subject, to the best of my ability. I’m not a "passive" sitter - I love to keep kids engaged, and am committed to facilitating and maintaining their routines. I'm a big believer in bedtime stories, positivity, and patience. Other bonuses: I've cared for sick or wounded animals at home and volunteering at an animal sanctuary, and worked as a petsitter/dog-walker 10-15 hrs/wk while in college. Every child and home is unique. I want to be as attuned to their/your needs and preferences as possible, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a call or meeting.
“Super warm, instantly connected with the boys, flexible when we unexpectedly needed her much longer, and kept us updated!! Thank you so much! Can’t wait to have her back!”
Hi there! My name is Lindy and I’m a 26-year-old artist and textile-maker living in Brooklyn. I graduated cum laude from NYU three years ago where I studied mental health with a focus on children and adolescents. I am passionate about early childhood, and this fall, I’ll be back in school working towards my masters degree in art therapy. In the mean time, I’m looking for part-time nanny work and regular babysitting opportunities! :) I adore children and have been babysitting since an early age. In addition, I have experience working as a teacher’s assistant at my local temple, a day care assistant, and as an intern at a children’s arts camp in Brooklyn. In total, I have over 5 years of experience caring for children aged 3 months to 12+. I've spent the past three years since graduating college nannying part-time. One of my previous nanny families described me as “kind, sensitive, attentive, and simply a lovely human being…who has very much become a part of our family.” I am fully vaccinated and boosted as well as CPR and First Aid certified. Let me know if you’d like to speak to my references!
“Lindy helped us out last minute when our full-time caregiver had a family emergency. She was calm, kind and mature and easygoing about our toddler being in a cranky mood. Our 5 year old also had fun playing with her. ”
Originally from San Francisco, CA, I have more than 10 years of babysitting experience. During college, I also worked as a camp counselor for a few summers! I have experience with a wide range of ages, from infant to pre-teen, and am also able to help with homework, cooking, and light housework. I am currently in graduate school, and I am patient, creative, and kind. In my free time I enjoy knitting and visiting museums!
“Polite, on time, responsible, would definitely use again! ”
Hi! I’m Dana — a NYC-based babysitter who’s new to UrbanSitter, but with over a year of part-time childcare experience for a family here in the city. I currently still work with this family on a salaried basis and am looking to pick up occasional babysitting and part-time work. The family I work with has three children, currently ages 7–12, and I’m comfortable caring for children ages 3 and up. My background also includes teaching summer camp, leading a children’s choir at church, and handling after-school pick-ups and daily routines. I’ve lived in New York City for 8 years and know the city very well. I’m extremely comfortable navigating neighborhoods, transportation, school schedules, and the general pace of city life, which helps me stay calm, organized, and reliable. In addition to childcare, I bring a wide range of professional experience, including working as a MainStage performer for Disney Tokyo and at Trader Joe’s. These roles strengthened my communication skills, dependability, and ability to stay positive, focused, and adaptable in fast-paced environments. I’m upbeat, punctual, and very engaged, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids — whether that’s doing creative activities, supporting routines, or being a steady, caring presence. I’m comfortable caring for multiple children and pride myself on clear, thoughtful communication with parents. I’d love to connect! If you’d like a reference from the family I currently work for, feel free to reach out — I’m happy to share. Please message me with any questions or to set up an interview. I look forward to meeting you and your kids!
