A nanny working for one family looking to share with another young family. The family lives in the Richmond neighborhood of SE and consists of two boys ages 4 (soon to be five) and 7. They are watched by the nanny during the workweek, roughly 4 hours, five days a week. The four year old will be starting kindergarten this coming Friday and the 7 year old started second grade this week! Some of the things the boys love are, going for walks to the park, legos, reading books, science projects, baking, making art and building. Mom works from home so can help out in an emergency. Family can host part or all the time. Hi! My name is Kristin and I have worked in education for almost 20 years. I worked with teens and adults with hearing and sight disabilities at Perkins School for the Blind, in Boston for 8 years before moving to Portland 9 years ago. I have worked at a small Charter School for 8 years where I created and directed an aftercare arts program and then worked as an educational assistant for the school, mostly in the K-1 classrooms. I have worked at a Montessori school with toddlers and infants. I have been nannying for four years and have experience with children from 6 months old to 7 years old! I am a fun, silly and creative person who loves being outside, gardening, animals, cooking and painting. I am passionate about education and creating a safe and loving space for children and adults to learn and grow.
“I have worked with Kristin for 6 years. She is a kind, caring and compassionate person who loves working with children. And children adore her. She appreciates each child's uniqueness and has a special ability to connect with them. Kristin adapts quickly to differing needs and situations with a positive attitude. I have witnessed her working with everyone from individual children to groups or classrooms of students. Kristin is an artist who uses her love of the arts to teach and engage others through various mediums. She loves to have fun, whether it is dancing with kids, playing games or as simple as getting totally engaged reading a book to them. The way in which Kristin engages with children, any family would be lucky to have their children spending time with her. In the words of a former student "she treats everyone like family."”
I have been a nanny and youth educator for over 10 years. Working with children of a variety of ages — 3 months to 15 years. My specialty is creativity and nature connection. I bring a sense of adventure and place and compassionate care for social emotional skills to my work. I take my job seriously, and because of my life as an educator I like to make any mundane day an event with an opportunity for learning and bonding. Professionally I teach drama, creativity, outdoor education for youth, and I guide a therapeutic embodiment practice for adults. I also work in the creative field as a performing artist and on all sides of event production. Because of this I marked weekend evenings as not generally available, however I am flexible at this time and will adjust for the right family! Finally, I am good at organizing and cleaning up a space. I am currently on the market for a car and could then run errands, etc.
“Indigo was the undisputed favorite babysitter of my twins when they were in early elementary school. Indigo was reliable, responsible and a great communicator with me. I knew that my kids would be safe and well-cared for when I left them with Indigo. But what really set Indigo apart was her creativity and obvious enjoyment spending time with kids. My kids really had fun when they spent an evening or an entire day with Indigo. They still play some of the games Indigo taught them and howl with laughter. I’d hire Indigo again in a heartbeat.”
Hi, I’m Carissa! I have a genuine love for working with children and bring a calm, caring energy to every babysitting job. With experience as a preschool teacher’s assistant, I’m comfortable with all kinds of routines—from playtime and learning activities to snacks and naps. I’m reliable, patient, and always focused on creating a positive and safe space for kids to be themselves.
Hi I’m an older college student looking to work with some fun kids! I’ve been babysitting and nannying since I was ten years old. The first time I was first aid and infant CPR certified was at fourteen years old. My favorite family was a family friend that I babysat for regularly. It started with two kids elementary age and ended with four kids ranging from infant to middle school age. I love outside activities with kids to get energy out and doing projects or “homework” that is fun for the kids and also helps them learn. I am open to a lot of situations.
Hi! My name is Kimberly, and I’m a responsible and caring babysitter based in the Portland area. I really enjoy working with kids and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and have fun while you’re away. I have experience working in a childcare setting, and I’m currently in a Childhood Cadet program at school, where I’m learning more about child development and care. I’ve also babysat family members, so I’m comfortable handling different ages and routines. I can help with playtime, homework, meals, and bedtime, and I enjoy keeping kids engaged with activities like games, crafts, and outdoor play. I’m reliable, patient, and always prioritize safety. I’d love the opportunity to help support your family!
