I bring over 15 years of experience caring for children from infancy through the teen years, including roles as a nanny, babysitter, ESL teacher, special needs tutor, and current preschool program assessor. I am CPR and First Aid certified, bilingual in English and Spanish, and conversational in French and Mandarin Chinese. My approach to caregiving is child-led, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and play-based. I enjoy creating engaging, developmentally supportive experiences through outdoor play, art, reading, healthy cooking, and mindfulness activities. I strive to foster independence, emotional regulation, and a strong sense of safety and belonging in every child I work with. For work-from-home families, I value clear communication and collaboration. I do my best work when trusted to take the lead during scheduled hours, as consistency helps children feel secure and reduces confusion. As an educated and experienced early childhood professional, I know how to make the most of teachable moments in everyday experiences. I spent my first career working with children and families in various educational settings, with children from birth through the teenage years, and understand the critical development happening during these different stages. Now I work as a family therapist, and I love to provide babysitting services as a way of staying connected to my roots! I enjoy getting to know each child as an individual, and creating the best environment for them. I have worked with children, teens, and young adults with varying needs, including children with autism, Down syndrome, epilepsy, asthma, and moderate to severe behavioral diagnoses. I am comfortable with and trained to administer medications, including epi-pens. I have experience with cloth diapering, baby led weaning, and various parenting styles- it’s important for me to connect with the way you prefer your child to be interacted with.

Hi, my name is Charmaine. I've been working with children since I was 13 and truly love doing it! I started by babysitting for kids in my neighborhood. At 16 started working part time as a helper at a daycare center. I was a principal of the same daycare for 2 years and now a full time nanny looking for babysitting opportunities. I've worked with kids of all ages, I am infant qualified and know CPR and first aid. I am also a Household manager and will do parents and kids laundry, look after pets, prepare all meals, willing to do all household chores and can swim. Fully vaccinated and boosted

I am a mother of 3. my daughter is 18 and my son is 6 and my other daughter is 2. my parents did foster care when I was younger, so I was exposed to all sorts of people and kids. I babysat for years, worked at a daycare and helped with many kids programs in my area and community. I love to be silly and creative.

I am a Portland native and I worked as a teacher for 4 years. I graduated with my BA from Lewis & Clark College and earned my MAT at the University of Portland. I am currently a volunteer on the board of a nonprofit and am starting up a small online business with an old friend. I enjoy soccer, hiking, singing with my gospel choir, teaching Girl Scouts how to sew, and I’m currently renovating a vintage Airstream. I started baby-sitting as a ten-year-old, and have since worked with children of all ages. Most of my experience is with elementary school age kids, but I love babies and toddlers as well.
