I’ve been babysitting and nannying since middle school, whether for a family here and there, or long-term. In high school I nannied for three, pre- and elementary school-aged boys. Twice a week for three years I picked them up from school, took them to swimming, tennis, or soccer lessons, and helped with homework. Over the summer, I worked at Bear Mountain Stables where I took children on horseback rides through the mountains and held private lessons for children 6-12 years-old. During my undergrad, I was an RA and head RA. I have a master’s degree from Western Washington University and taught ENG 101 for two years. I also worked at a youth coach at VITAL climbing gym for 2 years where I taught children aged 8-17 to climb safely indoors. The no b also required activity planning, encouraging teamwork, encouraging commitment and hard work, and deescalation.
