I have been babysitting for well over 10 years, beginning in high school. I have experience with all ages, but the most experience with infant-2 years. I was a teacher in a learning center in the infant room for 2.5 years, have been a nanny for more than 6 families, all but one with an infant at start. I also have helped with my niece and nephews since they were newborns. I am adaptable, a quick learner, and able to multitask effortlessly. I believe that caregivers are a huge part of young children’s lives and can aid or deter development depending on the care given. I believe in teaching emotional regulation, working through big feelings together, and teaching positive morals and values to help young children grow, learn, and become the best versions of themselves.

Hi my name is Kaitlyn I'm 31 years old and I work as an LPN downtown. I started babysitting when I was in 7th grade and that was the only job I had throughout high school. I babysat 2 little boys every Wednesday and sometimes I would come over on the weekends if I was needed. I have 2 baby nephews that I watch so I am still around children a lot helping out with whatever my sister needs help with. I grew up with a variety of animals from birds, fish, dogs, cats, hamsters, turkeys, ducks, frogs, crawfish, sea monkeys, etc. I love animal all of gods creatures deserve love even spiders. My mother worked at the Animal Humane Society when I was growing up and so not only did we have a variety of pets at home that we cared for, but we would also go to her work and volunteer and take care of the animals there as well. I also spent a lot of time with my grandmother when I was growing up so I would help her a lot and then eventually when I went to college I got my CNA license and throughout college the only places I worked were assisted living places and also in the memory care area. My name is Lungile and I am currently a kids caregiver. I have been working at my current job for the last 3 years. Before I started as a caregiver, I was studying a Social Dynamics. My current job includes responsibilities like cooking, doing admin work, playing and entertaining the kids. One of the kids I take care of also had special needs. I am very patient and kind. I love being active and creative. I have worked and volunteered at a children’s orphanage for many years.

My teaching experience is in middle and high school English Language Arts, Math, Biology, and Science. My tutoring experience is in all the age groups with an obvious focus on the areas I’ve taught. Other than the content, one of my strengths while teaching was in classroom management, because I have the ability to use expectations, logical consequences, and relationships to impact student behaviors. And one of the most effective and compassionate, yet effective ways of managing inappropriate behaviors is through using Restorative Practices. I have many years of experience addressing child behavior this way and helping people, both kids and adults through conflict using this approach.
