Hi my name is Sydney and I am currently looking for work over the summer that could potentially move into the Fall. I currently work at an elementary school as a literacy tutor and have lots of experience working with kids. On the weekend I coach soccer for kids ages 3-7 and have currently been working with a family in the evenings for the past year and a half (ages 5 & 2.5). Preschool Teacher with a Master's degree in Psychology seeking to return to nannying. CPR and First-Aid certified. I completed my Master's in Psychology in 2021 and am eventually planning to return to graduate school to pursue licensure as a marriage and family therapist. I am warm, patient, kind, and genuinely care deeply for the children in my life. I am so grateful to spend my days with them. I love reading with children, doing art projects, playing at the park, and singing songs together. I place a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning and modeling kindness and empathy. I also enjoy fostering children’s innate interests and curiosities. As a former teacher, I am confident in supplementing and enriching children’s learning. I have always been drawn to caring for children and families. My experience began over 15 years ago as a summer camp counselor (I have never met a craft I didn't excel at), babysitter, nanny, and now as a newborn care specialist/ postpartum doula. I love joining children in their world of play and making it as fun and engaging as possible. Although my specific certifications and professional experience are primarily focused on newborns and infants, I have cared for children of all ages, from toddlers to teens. I'm able to meet each age group where they are at and strive to make my time shared with them engaging and fun.
