Hi Parents! Its a pleasure to meet you. You will find I have a large gap in my reviews because I have been working with a family long term the past 2 years and have been mainly hired by repeat families (Would be happy to offer that reference.) I am now available for new families! I'm a writer-actress recently moved to LA from NYC! (Hence the mainly NYC reviews) I received my BS in Advertising and Marketing Communications from FIT, minoring in English. In my spare time I enjoy writing poetry, reading, films, playing volleyball, working out and just being active. I'm a lover of nature as well as a lover of laughter :) I grew up taking care of kids/ being around kids all the time because of my very fertile family haha . I knew how to change a diaper since I was about 10 years old and as I got older I was one of the go to for watching my little cousins who ranged from newborns to 12 years. I have experience with all ages and get along great with kids. I'm patient, understanding and educated. I have done pick ups after school, traveled home to work on homework, prepared a snack/cook dinner and fun time if there was time left after. I have experience with overnight/vacation sitting where I was the main caretaker and very comfortable with it. I've taken children to parks, museums and played with them. I know how to change diapers, do bath time, put to sleep and keep everyone happy :) I also do light cleaning if necessary and I am red cross cpr certified and have first aid training. Cancellation policy- same day/ last minute cancellation requires the full booking amount to be paid. I tend to have a lot of inquiries and and when you book in advance I am fully committed to you. I turn down any other offers that i receive! I understand things come up however, this is my main source of income and i take it very seriously! The time i scheduled for you is very important to me as it should be for you :) **For bookings ending at or beyond 9pm travel home would be required!

*I have 15 months' experience as a nanny for a family Los Angeles. It was a positive, loving, respectful, and all-around fun household, and I was lucky to be a part of their family for so long! I cared for a girl and a boy (now aged 2 and 4) from 7am-4pm, Monday-Friday, driving them to and from preschool, took them to the library for story time, walked to the park with the double stroller, baked and cooked with them, worked with them in the vegetable garden, and provided consistency with the family's potty training approach. I also facilitated mealtimes, naptime, and often bathtime and bedtime as well. I adopted the family's conflict resolution strategies as my own, because they work well for everybody involved. (Stopped when I moved.) *In 2016-17, I was a part-time sitter for a 10-/11-year old girl with ADHD (I have ADHD too, so it was easy to empathize with her and practice strategies.) I picked her up from after-care, made dinner, helped with homework, and tried my best to be a positive presence in her life. (Stopped when her family moved.) ~ About me ~ *I am upbeat, curious, and try to practice empathy with all the humans I meet. *I am a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, so I'm happy to support your family in eating well (whatever that means for you—I'm not judgy!), e.g., helping cook/meal prep/etc. (If you'd like personalized nutrition support, we can arrange a separate consultation). *I have 2 rescue dogs and love dog walking, so I'd be happy to care for your pups, too! *I studied Biology and graduated in 2012 (Occidental College, LA, CA), then traveled a lot: walking a 400-mile pilgrimage in Spain, a mission trip to Haiti, and volunteering on organic farms in Japan and the UK. *I spent the summer of 2014 as a tour guide in the southwest US National Parks for French-speaking tourists. *In 2014-15 I was a certified Wilderness First Responder, including Pediatric and Adult CPR/First Aid training. ~ My approach with kids ~ *I like singing songs and lullabies, either the old standards or sometimes improvised lyrics that suit the situation ;) I love Raffi and other silly songs, plus some Disney soundtracks—Mary Poppins, Moana—and whatever else happens to be in my mental jukebox that day. Hello, my name is Alia. I am currently in graduate school in Pasadena. I have had extensive babysitting experience for the past 11 years. I’ve babysat children as young as 6 months & in groups as large as 12. I taught ice skating lessons to preschool aged kids and worked as a camp counselor for ages 10-14. I’ve participated in a number of other volunteer organizations tutoring kids of all ages. I absolutely love working with kids and teenagers and hope to be a pediatrician in the future! When I’m not making forts and fairy houses while babysitting, or rock climbing with my 12 & 13 year old cousins, I may be cooking a new dish or traveling to a new country.
