Booked by 20 families in Berkeley, CA

My name is Lynda, I am 24 years old, and I have been working as a preschool teacher for the past 2 years. I am passionate about working with children and supporting their development in a safe and nurturing environment. I also studied midwifery, where I completed several internships that gave me hands-on experience with newborns and young children. This background has helped me build strong skills in childcare from an early age. I have cared for children in over 40 families, including 9 regular families that I worked with consistently. I also provided long-term care for one child for 1. 5 years, 4 days a week, building a strong and trusting relationship with both the child and the family. I am patient, caring, and responsible. I always make sure children feel safe, happy, and engaged by offering age-appropriate activities that support their creativity and independence. I would love the opportunity to care for your children and support your family's daily needs

Lynda was lovely, very professional and got our toddler to sleep without any issue!

Most recently provided full time care for 2 girls ages 2 and 4. Spent summer of 2019 with 2 boys ages 2 and 4. Full time work caring for a baby girl from 4 months to 2.5 years with the addition of her baby brother when she was 18 months old. 2 summers (2[removed]) caring for a 6 month (and then 18 month) little boy. Part time work for two boys ages 1 year and 4 years. A year of volunteering for a preschool caring for 5+ kids at a time, sometimes on my own. Can provide excellent references. Great with children and an excellent communicator with parents.

Hi! My name is Imerda, I am 24 years old and I have been a volunteer caregiver for many years. I worked with my mother and took care of senior citizens. I also have tutored a lot of students from grades 2 through college in math. I have 4 pets (1 dog, 1 cat and 2 snakes), and in my free time I like to be creative, roller skate, and cook. I am patient kind, understanding and hard-working.

Imerda was excellent. She has a very calm energy and my boys enjoyed playing with her. She’s very sweet and offered different activities for them to do. I will use her again.

Hello Thank you for visiting my profile. 😁 My name is Nenye and I’d love to be a part of your family. I have been a Babysitter since I was 15. I am looking for a full time or part-time job. I’ve worked full-time jobs primarily with infants between 2 months to 5years and also worked part-time with children between the ages of 7-11. I’m up to par with my TB shots, flu shot, Covid shot including booster shots. I accept jobs only from vaccinated families. I’m a non-smoker and non-drinker. I love cooking and cleaning and I am also an animal lover so I would definitely not mind being around any pet. I’d be happy to provide references as well as meet or chat on the phone. Looking forward to hearing from you and I wish you the best of luck with your search!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ When we leave our 2 kids (and dog) with her, we do so knowing they will be safe, happy and healthy. Nenye is smart, kind, and fun to be around, and easily matches the energy of any child. She genuinely enjoys the company of kids and they can tell! She is caring yet firm, and our kids love spending time with her. Extra bonuses - she is meticulously clean, well-organized, and communicative. I would highly recommend her for any family with no reservations.

Hello, I am a well seasoned nanny, with decades of childcare experience. I love children and delight in bringing ease and joy to family life. As a practicing Buddhist, the cultivation of kindness, compassion, composure, and the joy that arises in concert with these qualities, are integral to my well being and the care that I provide. As a young mother of two, I set aside a career path as a mechanical engineering professor in the field of mathematical fluid dynamics, and went on to homeschool my own four children, through Hearthstone Charter School, the Butte County home education program for which I was a founding board member, teaching countless other students and babysitting their younger siblings along the way. I have a researched understanding of child development and a variety of early childhood educational and parenting modalities. I truly enjoy being loving support to parents’ own philosophies. Well versed in RIE and Attachment Theory, specifically the emotional co-regulation that is foundational to Secure Attachment, I am inclined toward those aspects of Montessori and Waldorf education that foster authentic exploration and self mastery, and find respectful, holistic approaches to the care and education of children to be a natural extension of my Buddhist practice. I am particularly experienced with infants and toddlers, as well as gifted children of all ages, including those on the autism spectrum. I have found that a whole-child approach is essential to the care of children presenting with early signs of an IQ in the exceptionally (160-180) or profoundly (180+) gifted range. (I am happy to have a conversation on the topic of gifted children.) Here’s what the mom wrote on Berkeley Parent’s Network: "She has been taking care of our children for the last 4 years. She is truly incredible in a Mary Poppins-esque sort of way; very fit, from the Bay Area, raised 4 children herself, homeschooled them, phd in engineering, and chose childcare as a career later in life because she loves children. She has a warm personality and is amazing with the kids; creative, kind, receptive, respectful. She is also very smart and resourceful and can manage everything by herself, so if you want excellent childcare for your kids and not worry about anything, she is your gal." If you feel we may be compatible, let’s talk about your family’s needs and how I can help. All Good wishes, Mariah

So sweet and very reliable!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
