Booked by 131 families in El Cerrito, CA

Hi! My name is Hue (or Emily). I’ve been working with a family in the Panhandle since their baby girl was 8 months old, and she has now started preschool. I’ve been with them for 4+ years and am currently looking for a part-time or full-time position. I have over 10 years of experience caring for infants and toddlers. I’ve worked with single families, nanny shares, and siblings. The youngest baby I’ve cared for was just 2 weeks old. A typical day with a baby includes breakfast, a bottle before the morning nap, lunch with solid foods, and another bottle before the afternoon nap. During the day, I incorporate indoor activities like music, reading, and helping develop motor skills such as crawling, standing, and walking. I also make it a priority to get outside every day - whether it’s going to the park or library for story time - so they can get fresh air, build social skills, and interact with other children. I make sure everything related to the child is clean and organized, including diaper changes, washing bottles, preparing meals, and bathing before parents get home. I’ve had the joy of supporting many important milestones, such as crawling, first teeth, introducing solid foods, sleep training, standing, walking, and nap transitions. While there can be challenges - like sleep training, feeding transitions, or adjusting schedules - I’m patient and experienced in helping both children and parents through those stages. For toddlers, I help with daily routines such as breakfast, snacks, playground time, story time or music classes, lunch, and naps. I also assist with dishes and laundry when needed. I truly enjoy spending time with kids and building a strong, caring relationship with them. I love keeping children active with outdoor activities like going to the park, scootering, biking, and dancing, rather than relying on screens. I also enjoy cooking healthy meals for kids (such as meatballs, beef, salmon, and chicken), and I’m happy to help with light household tasks like dishes, laundry, and organizing children’s spaces. Please feel free to reach out if you think I might be a good fit for your family. Thank you so much!

Hello my name is Evin! I am a graduate of San Francisco State University where I earned a BA in Child and Adolescent Development with a concentration in youth work and out of school time as well as a Minor in Africana studies. I also have a Masters (MA) in Drama Therapy at CIIS. I have worked as a coordinator for different youth programs throughout the Bay for over 7 years now abd a program manager of youth programming for the last 4 years. A lot of the work I do centers on culture, healing, Mental Health, Restorative Justice, etc. I have been working with children for over a decade now. I started off babysitting for local families back in San Diego. Then it was more infant and toddler care. Right into college I worked in preschools for two years then went into summer and after school programs with school-age kids, and following that I was a camp counselor at a radical healing retreat with high school students. I now write curriculum for one of the summer programs I work for and after being a coordinator for both programs I am now a full time program manger. I am super into creativity and socio-emotional development along with education and safety. I pride my self in making children feel safe to learn and express themselves as well as discover who they are as individuals. I love supporting youth in all their endeavors and I truly have a natural understanding, patience, and connection with children.

Evin really helped us out on short notice when our scheduled sitter bailed on us at the very last minute. From the moment she came over she was super friendly, professional and did a great job making our little one feel comfortable. Our son really enjoyed his time with her and I would highly recommend her to anyone using Urbansitter. Thanks Evin for your help!

$30 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 25 families in El Cerrito, CA

Hi! My name is Jenn and my life's passion and talent is working with children! First, a bit about my experience with kids: I'm a seasoned parent to 22 and 16 year olds who are turning into caring, conscientious and responsible adults who are excellent students with incredible work ethic. I'm proud of raising these two as a single parent! I currently work as a middle school teacher. Prior to that, I ran my own childcare business in my home for toddlers. It was pure joy to work with my little learners and the whole family to create a happy, warm, safe, nurturing environment for them to grow, learn and play! I hold a CA teaching credential and I have taught elementary and middle school grades full time and have subbed K-12. I have the gift of natural attunement to children and connect with them easily and joyfully. I also have the rare ability to work effectively with babies through high school students. I am highly intuitive about children's feelings and needs and I respond sensitively and appropriately. Children simply bring out the best in me! I have an upbeat personality, a playful sense of humor, and children trust me and connect with me easily and with joy. I love discovering/encouraging what interests children have and designing activities or finding books that match their interests. I particularly love helping children connect with nature, both in spending time outdoors and in projects using natural materials. If there is the opportunity, I like to bring these interests to my babysitting work and I also have a huge collection of children's literature and bring books with me to my sits. Further, I am highly experienced in working with children from all backgrounds, cultures and special needs, including autism. Since I've taught early elementary and middle school, I can help with homework if needed. I use a positive discipline approach with my own children and the children I work with. I'm adept at teaching social and emotional skills and I love helping children learn how to communicate and to understand and express their feelings to others including working out conflict as necessary. About myself, I have an abundance of things I love to do, which include healthy cooking, knitting, making jewelry, photography, book club, reading, writing, my pets, and Bay Area fun with my kids! I look forward to working with your family!

Jennifer was wonderful with our almost two year old! She brought some fun new books and toys for her to explore. She was timely, communicative, and thoughtful. Would hire her again!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
