Hello There, I'm Shanya. I'm originally from Boston, MA. and went to college in New York city, where I lived for about 15 years. I've been in LA for the past 3 years and I run a freelance design business from home. In addition to my design business, I spend a lot of my free time working several passions art projects. Some of the things that I'm passionate about include sustainability, creative experimentation and arts education as a means for personal development and discovery. I love teaching art to people of all ages. Some of my past project include; 1) developing a maker market / craft fair in Portland, Oregon that supported the local maker community while teaching craft skills to children and adults, and 2) working as an art workshop instructor for a off Broadway theatre company, where I lead children in works that were later used as set decorations. For example during a production of the Little Mermaid the children made sea creatures that were used to decorate the stage during the live show. If your kids are into arts and crafts, I would love to work on something fun with them!

Growing up in a big family of 11 , I’ve had plenty of hands-on experience caring for kids, including my sibling and many younger cousins. I’m very tidy, enjoy cooking and cleaning, and I’ve always had pets both dogs and cats so I’m confident in taking care of them too. I speak 4 languages, two of which are exotic.
