San Jose
$27 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 9 families in Piedmont, CA

Hey, my name is Elia and I’m offering child care services. My current job consists of being a waiter but I want to look for something else, I used to work for a company from the san mateo county caring for adults for about 2 years. The company’s name is IHSS. Since I used to care for kids when I was younger ( taking them to school, babysitting) and raised some of my own this seems like a great opportunity for me. I’m bilingual as I speak both Spanish and English and I would be more than happy to teach your children Spanish when caring for them. I’m a mother of two. Two boys, one 17 and the other one is 7 and I would say i have a pretty good experience with kids. Caring for children is not only something I’m good at but I also enjoy it! I can clean, and run errands when needed. I’m also okay with taking care of pets.

We feel incredibly lucky to have had Elia as part of our family for the past 8 months. From the very beginning, she has been kind, attentive, and deeply engaged with our baby — always playing with her in thoughtful, age-appropriate ways that support her development. With our permission, she has also been teaching our daughter Spanish, and it’s been so exciting to hear her respond to familiar words in both languages. Elia is extremely responsible and always punctual. She’s respectful of our routines and values, and she’s proactive in helping reinforce positive habits around eating, sleeping, and motor skills. When our daughter naps, she kindly offers to help with light housework — without ever needing to be asked — and we so appreciate her initiative and reliability. We’ve also noticed and admired that she’s never distracted or on her phone; her attention is always focused where it matters most. More than anything, Elia truly feels like a part of our family. Our baby absolutely lights up when she sees her. We trust her completely and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for a nurturing, trustworthy, and experienced caregiver.

Hello everyone! My name is Andrea, and I recently graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Bioinformatics and a minor in Human Development.I’m open to opportunities throughout the Bay Area, including live-in positions, date-night gigs, full-time roles, or multiple part-time positions. I have over seven years of experience working with families as a babysitter, nanny, tutor, and household manager. My experience ranges from occasional/date-night care to long-term family support. I am Red Cross certified in Babysitting, CPR, and First Aid, and I am currently completing my CNA certification. Over the past year, I have also completed Newborn Care Specialist coursework and am actively working toward certification hours. I have experience caring for children from 6 weeks to 11 years old, as well as tutoring students ages 5–17 across K–12 subjects. I also speak conversational Spanish and would be happy to incorporate language learning into daily activities with your children. My approach to childcare is calm, attentive, and highly engaged. I value gentle parenting principles and draw inspiration from Montessori and RIE philosophies. In addition to childcare, I’m very comfortable assisting with household management tasks, anticipating parents’ needs, maintaining routines, and helping keep the home running smoothly. I also absolutely love pets and am very comfortable around animals. I have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and am comfortable traveling as needed. I also understand the importance of professionalism, discretion, and respecting families’ privacy, and I have previous experience working with high-profile families under confidentiality agreements. Excellent references are available upon request. I truly enjoy building long-term relationships with families and creating a warm, supportive environment where children feel safe, encouraged, and cared for. I’d love to connect and see if I might be a good fit for your family!

San Francisco
$35 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 99 families in Piedmont, CA

Trusted by Bay Area families for a decade to nurture, teach, and inspire. I bring a unique mix of early childhood education experience, postpartum doula certification, and leadership in youth programs to create engaging, thoughtful days for your child. A combined 10+ years of nannying and childcare experience with ages 0-17. I’ve led STEM programming for a youth-focused nonprofit serving over 3,000 children, worked as a Montessori teaching assistant, and held leadership roles in Girl Scouts and youth sports. My background also includes two years as an office manager and special projects lead in the tech world. When the office closed, I channeled my creativity into starting my own San Francisco-based event business, which I continue to run today. I thrive in busy, fast-paced environments while keeping things calm and organized for the kiddos. Born and raised in the Bay Area, I know how to make the most of our city. From museum memberships to hidden park gems, I can turn any afternoon into a mini field trip (with your approval). Whether it’s a nature walk, a LEGO building marathon, an art project, or a science experiment, I tailor activities to each child’s interests and developmental stage. When you book me, you’re getting a trusted partner who treats your child’s time as an opportunity for growth, creativity, and joy. There is more about my experience below. Please feel free to message me with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. Rates: $30/hr is my starting rate for babysitting. Nannying, household tasks, and other responsibilities are billed at a higher rate based on scope. Please understand I require 48 hours notice for cancellations.

Alicia cared for our 4.5 month old baby on short notice. She was so calm and engaging and patient with our kiddo, who a bit unexpectedly was going through some "stranger danger" and was having a tough time (i.e., inconsolably crying) being around a new person at first. Alicia was caring and calm, and helped our baby to settle and sleep. Alicia was attentive to her sleeping and eating times. We'd just love to hire her again!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
