Hi! My name is Asiah, and I’m a proud graduate of Cal State East Bay with a degree in Sociology. My passion for working with children stems from being a big sister to five siblings — helping them grow and being someone they looked up to made me realize how much I love caring for and guiding young minds. Over the years, I’ve built hands-on experience in various child-centered environments, including daycares, elementary schools, and recreation centers. Since 2017, I’ve worked with UrbanSitter, building lasting relationships with families who continue to request me. I’ve supported children through daily routines, including meal prep, school drop-offs and pick-ups, homework help, and enrichment activities. During the pandemic, I adapted to meet new challenges by supervising virtual learning, ensuring kids stayed on track academically while still having fun. Currently, I work in an after-school program with 6th to 8th graders, where I lead both an enrichment class focused on art projects and an active class that involves outdoor games and sports. Whether it’s helping with homework, planning creative activities, or just being a positive role model, I find real joy in being part of a child's growth. Hello, My name is Jennifer. I have over 10+ years experience with kids of all ages. I started babysitting at the young age of 12 years old. I've always enjoyed spending time or teaching new things to young children. I was a tutor for 2 years and taught ages 5-13 years old. At age 15 I was involved with a nonprofit organization based on young kids and teenagers who were involved in alcohol or drugs. Once my boys started school full-time, I began increasing my hours. We relocated to my husband’s parents home in Rhode Island during Covid. We returned to LA to start the new school year, and I’m returning to child care full time. * I provide parents with the confidence their child(s) are safe, happy, and well cared for. Previously through word-of-mouth, I've aggressively used UrbanSitter since August. * I’ve babysat months-old infants, supervised older children, and everywhere in-between. I had a live-in Nanny when both my sons were born. From this experience, I learned 1st hand how an extra pair of hand can save a new-mom’s sanity. * Difficult and/or active kids are no issue. I’ve never found a child whom didn’t respond well to my care. My husband and I have NEVER spanked our children. Timeouts, communication, & firm directions are more than adequate to correct a child's behavior. I’m very patient & understanding with all children. 2.
