I have extensive experience caring for children of all ages, and I specialize in applied behavioral analysis. Currently, I work in a school setting, supporting autistic children and children with disabilities in their development. I create a fun, engaging, and safe environment that fosters both learning and growth. My approach emphasizes structure and developmentally enriching activities, using play-based techniques to make learning enjoyable. For instance, I might turn toys into counting tools or transform everyday moments into skill-building opportunities. I am a compassionate, patient, and dedicated caregiver who genuinely loves working with children. Since the age of 15, I have cared for children, including those with autism, ensuring they feel supported, valued, and empowered. My goal is to provide a nurturing and educational space where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and cognitively in the classroom and at home, ultimately building productive individuals who contribute positively to society.

Background: I have taught in preschool settings all around the LA area for about 9 years now with primarily the 2-5 age range. My background is in child development which I’ve studied in college. I got into the field when I interned at a local family resource center where I organized lesson plans and play groups for infants and toddlers. I consider myself a lifelong learner and study the Reggio Emilia approach and RIE philosophy with a passion as it tends to inspire my provocations. I am currently a part time teacher at a child development center in Ventura, California - that focuses on nature-based learning, also known as the outdoor classroom approach. I also have some previous full/part time nannying experience (with infants/toddlers). About Me: I enjoy going to coffee shops, hitting the gym, lap swimming, walking my dog, baking and traveling to tropical places! I speak fluent English and Spanish Fine Print: •4 hour minimum per booking •Short Notice Cancellation Fee: 50% of booking total if cancelled within 24hrs of start time. •If anyone in your household has been sick within 72 hours of booking, please cancel said booking. I do not consent to working with sick children. I work with multiple families, including infants, and I want to ensure the health and well-being of everyone involved. I will also be transparent about my own health status. •All hours booked are considered “guaranteed hours” in terms of pay, even if I am relieved early or for any other reason. •Cash, Zelle and Venmo preferred! 😊

WHAT A RARE FIND!!!! We hired Andrea for our stay at the Ojai Valley Inn - which she was totally familar with / comfortable with the property - to watch our 10 month old. It was the first time I've left my daughter with someone other than her nanny, so I was a little nervous, but Andrea's calm and loving presence, matched with her clear expertise, immediately put me at ease. I serve on my son's preschool board, and would honestly put Andrea up for a job there in a heartbeat.

• Bachelor’s in Sociology with a minor in Child Development • Master’s in Education in progress • Certified child care provider in the state of California includes: yearly CPR certification, vaccinations, trust line certified, and more! I believe my experience aligns well with what you’re looking for because I’m a very compassionate and self motivated individual. My family has a licensed childcare center. The way we’ve seen our mother teach, guide, support, and encourage little ones is definitely the reason my sisters and I began our journey toward working with children and the root to our ongoing career paths. When time permits I supervise the children and assistants. As well as connect with parents and keep them up to date. Moreover, I worked at an elementary school in Hermosa Beach and at behavioral health network as a Behavior Technician. In regards to nannying I have experience all around - overnight stays, date nights, part time position, and full time position ( I was with my previous family for two years:) Mothers helper: I come in as an extra set of hands for a couple of hours to take care of typical household needs. Which includes laundry, tidying, organizing, and light cleaning. I am open to running errands/ grocery shopping - gas fee add on. This does not include childcare coverage, but can for an increase hourly rate. Nanny work: I enjoy spending time with children (art, reading, outdoor play, etc.) and helping them get out of their comfort zone. When it comes to activities with the child/children it really depends on what you’re open to as the parent. If I’m given a budget we could go to the zoo, aquarium, etc. Of course there’s always the park, library, and playing at home. I’m open to using my car when needed (with gas reimbursement:). Overall, I always keep in mind on what’s in the best interest for the child (of course, with the input of the parents). Note: Regardless of the type of booking I want to emphases that my job is to focus on the well being and development of your child/ children. When time permits I don’t mind picking up after the child, unloading/ loading dishwasher, etc. I am in no means a professional cook or cleaner. *I have experience house- sitting and dog sitting as well! * rates vary on holiday bookings * If this is something that works for you I look forward on connecting further. Respectfully, Susana

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
