Hey Parents! My name is Jessica and I was born and raised in Austin, TX. I graduated with a BA in Theater Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. I have been a babysitter/nanny off and on for the last 13 years. I have looked after newborns and children up to 14 years of age. I truly enjoy spending time with them and being apart of their development journeys. My responsibilities have included picking up/driving children, light child-related household duties, putting down for naps/bedtime (we love a nap routine!), cooking/preparing meals, feeding, helping with homework, reading, going out for walks, and of course general care and playtime! In my off time I have founded a nonprofit called Orísun Collective, and we host creative arts summer camps for kids in Nigeria. I would run the camp as well as teach the acting class. I recently combined my two passions by hosting a children’s web series focused on having a growth mindset called Big Life Journal Buddies. I am originally from from the East Coast and graduated summa cum laude from Temple University in 2015. In addition to over 10 years of babysitting, mentoring students, and leading sports camps, I have two years of experience as a coach in a top youth soccer program that focuses just as much on character development as it does soccer fundamentals. I have also nannied for a Beverly Hills family including an 8 and 12 year old for one school year. Dear Parents, I am a former preschool teacher and I do one on one Kindergarten readiness classes. If your child is between 3-5 and needs skills for the years ahead, I am here. My approach is to use play-centered activities to guide them toward learning useful skills needed for school. Children develop in safe and comfortable environments and what better place than their own home and a skilled teacher. I help with letter and number recognition, beginning sounds of the alphabet, establishing left or right handedness, etc. My graduate degree is in Primary Education and I have a valid Child Development Permit issued from California.
