Hi! My name is Santana McClendon, and I’m a 20-year-old senior in college pursuing my degree in Early Childhood Education.
I have extensive experience working with children of all ages. I began in my early teens working at a daycare every summer, where I cared for children ranging from 5 months to 12 years old. During my time there, I helped teach, engage, supervise, and create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for every child.
After turning 18 and getting my first car, I worked for a transportation company, safely transporting children to and from school, summer camp, and home. This role strengthened my reliability, responsibility, and ability to build positive relationships with both children and families.
This past school year, I worked as a Special Education Classroom Assistant (SECA) with Chicago Public Schools, where I supported preschool students ages 4–5 with diverse learning needs while collaborating closely with teachers to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
In addition to my work with CPS, I have consistently nannied for multiple families. One family had a 13-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter, while another family has a 9-year-old son. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt to each family’s routines while providing dependable, engaging, and compassionate care.
I am also CPR certified, giving families added peace of mind that I am prepared to respond in the event of an emergency.
One thing I love most about nannying is being able to balance being a fun, energetic caregiver with supporting each child’s learning and development. Whether we’re spending the afternoon at the park, having a dance battle in the living room, doing arts and crafts, reading books, or working on age-appropriate learning activities, I strive to make every day both enjoyable and meaningful. My education in Early Childhood Education and my hands-on experience have given me the knowledge to support children’s social, emotional, academic, and developmental growth while making sure they have fun along the way.
Working with children has always been my passion, and I truly enjoy helping them learn, grow, and feel supported. Families describe me as reliable, patient, caring, fun, flexible, and trustworthy. I prioritize creating a safe, engaging, and loving environment where children can thrive.
As the new school year approaches, I’m looking for a full-time nannying position, though I am open for part-time! Please reach out!!
