sara $18 per hour for 1 child

Heyy I’m 18 years old I’m at my 1st year of college. I adore and love kids. I have worked with children all ages for my town recreation center during the summer and babysat toddlers from their homes, so I would like to say I’m very experienced. I communicate openly and effectively with parents, understanding the importance of their preferred communication method, whether it's written daily reports or regular updates via text or phone call. I enforce household rules by following the parents' lead, ensuring consistency and a sense of security for the children in my care. When it comes to playtime, I love engaging children in outdoor sports and physical games, as well as board games and puzzles. I also enjoy incorporating educational games that promote learning and development.

Booked by 1 family in Astoria, NY

Hi - my name is Sylvana and I just graduated from Williams College. I offer childcare, senior care, and household services. I love helping out with kids, and have been babysitting since I was in the eighth grade. I grew up in New York, so I’m very familiar with babysitting in the big city! I am also an experienced academic tutor, and am happy to assist in homework help and other miscellaneous tasks. I am able to run errands for the household, or assist in cooking or cleaning. I am also experienced in caretaking roles, and would be happy to help out with senior tasks— I am able to cook and clean, and am always happy to chat. I have experience working with smaller dogs, and am glad to help out with cats or other pets.

Shellie $30 per hour for 1 child

Hi! I’m Shellie, a caring, energetic, and flexible caregiver with 10+ years of experience working with kids from being a full-time nanny, summer camp counselor, and occasional babysitting. I have most of my experience working with toddlers and young children ages (2-10 years old), and kids with ADHD, selective mutism, and anxiety disorders. I’m currently a graduate student studying child psychology. I’m currently a nanny to a family with children ages 3 and 10 years old. This summer, I’m looking for a family to work with while school is out, and if you’re interested into the school year. I started babysitting when I was 16 years old and haven’t stopped working with kids as I love it so much! When I was an undergrad student I worked as a full-time nanny for 3+ years providing weekday care for a family with children ages 4, 6, and 8. In addition to supporting their daily school schedules and extracurriculars, I planned fun activities at home like various arts and crafts projects, scavenger hunts, and dance parties to outings to the aquarium, the beach and museums. I also completed household tasks like meal prep, grocery shopping, laundry, tidying up and general housekeeping. More about me: Born and raised in Miami Beach, FL, I love spending time outdoors playing soccer, cooking healthy homemade meals, and indulging in painting, baking, playing guitar, and reading.

Holland 4 reviews
$28 per hour for 1 child

Hello! My name is Holland, I'm 24, and I am a part time graduate student (Masters in Forensic Psychology) based in Brooklyn, NY. I have a passion for social justice, safety, and the wellbeing of vulnerable individuals in our communities. In my free time I love to bake, read, and spend time with my cat, Bunny! I would describe myself as communicative, patient, and organized. I love to make sure everyone is on the same page at all times and highly value a collaborative approach when working with families and care teams. I have experience working in both private childcare (toddlers through middle school age) and as a mentor/behavior coach at state agencies (elementary through high school ages). I also have experience working with neurodivergent kiddos, including profound (nonverbal) autism and intellectual disabilities. I understand each child has their own strengths and difficulties, and I do my absolute best to meet them where they're at and in a manner that will be supportive to them and their goals. I am very comfortable with home tasks such as cleaning, cooking, organization, and schedule management. I am open to a family assistant role that includes all of the above if necessary (rate increases to reflect responsibilities, at least $5/hr for non-child related cleaning/cooking). As I am in grad school, I'm looking for a family with some flexibility as my schedule is subject to change each semester. I'd love to connect and discuss the specifics of my experience and get to know you. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Holland is smart, kind, funny, intuitive, organized, and capable. In the several months she has worked for us she has taken excellent care of our young toddler son. He absolutely loves her and so do we. Not only does she make sure he eats enough, drinks water, naps on time, and has lots of fun playtime, but when he is napping she efficiently tidies and restores order to our home. I am particular about the house and she has no problems meeting my high standards. She is an excellent communicator and a quick learner who takes feedback well and integrates it easily. Holland is a gem. We will miss her so much when she leaves our area!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
