Hello Nanny Family, I'd describe my personality as kind, patient, and fun! I have a degree in Mathematics, a minor in Adventure Education, I can swim, drive, and I speak English (only). Happy to do household cleaning and laundry. I like working with kids, I find it very rewarding to help guide them to do something new, such as a hard a math problem, a handstand, or an authentic apology. I'm looking for a stable reoccurring job that feeling right for me, the kids and the family. I started working with kids when I was in high school as a baby sitter. Then I was a camp counselor at a Girl Scout Camp I grew up at and I love so much! Since then I have Nannied for families, and babysat. I have worked with children starting at 6 weeks and up. I have also worked at various gyms with kids. An aerial arts gym leading them through aerial silks and aerial hammock, and an American Ninja Warrior Gym, teaching gymnastics and such. In my spare time, I do various circus arts, partner acrobatics, hiking, swimming in the ocean, rock climbing, aerial silks, handstands, and Slacklining. I also sing and play ukulele, crochet, do crafts, weave baskets, and read. One thing you should know about me is l like to think of myself as a fun, but I also do not condone bratty behavior. I would like to think I am quite the opposite to a pushover in that regard. My skills include my playfulness, tutoring, and timeliness. I am adult and child First Aid, CPR and AED certified. I’ve cared for various children ranging from infancy to 16 years old. I was a Barnard Babysitter during my years there (2[removed]) and have nannied full time since 2023. I have a degree in psychology and a minor in religion. I’m patient, kind, curious, playful, communicative, responsible, firm, and big on checklists. I like to ensure children feel free to explore and learn but also maintain safety and parents wishes. My experience includes taking children to and picking up from school and extra curriculars, preparing meals, bath time, playtime, homework, park and zoo trips and more. I essentially raised the last child I worked with from 10 months until almost 4 years old when he started school full time. O was his primary caretaker M-F 7:30 am - 6 pm and helped him to walk, talk, eat solids, potty training, learn manners, cleanliness, and all the developmental phases from infancy through toddlerhood. I’m comfortable helping with light housework and errands and also have extensive experience pet sitting for cats, dogs and rodents. I’ve had great relationships with parents and children alike and continue to be in touch with all families I’ve worked for in the past. Hello all! I'm looking forward to meeting new families. I have been a childcare provider for twelve years and I love working with kids and babies. I went to FIT for fine arts, and I love to help children learn to paint 🎨 and explore their musical abilities (I teach guitar 🎸). I like to cook🥘, and my favorite meal to make is buttery cheesy pasta with veggies. I like to play music from jam bands like Kruangbin while helping with homework and studying. I know things have been challenging for everyone during this time, and I am happy to be a strong supportive presence for any family who needs me. Creating a positive, loving, tidy, and structured environment is very important. 📚It’s great to have reading time throughout the day and it’s important for kids to learn by example, so I like to read books to the younger kids, and have book time with the older kids where we all read our own personal books. My favorite book is The Girl Who Fell From the Sky by Heidi W. Durrow. For families that like to include technology in their little ones' routine, I like to use fun different language apps to help build a new linguistic foundation. I am an intermediate French speaker so practicing French, in particular, is fun for me. My most recent experience includes working with a 2 year old in Indonesia and two toddlers in Brooklyn. I love playing sports with kids and getting to run outside with them and have as much fresh air as possible. Tag and soccer are favorite games of mine and I like shooting hoops🏀 Everyone's safety is of the most importance, being strict about mask wearing, hand washing, and all around vigilance is essential.
