Hello! My name is Rebecca. I have been working in NYC as a nanny/sitter since 2016. I've been a primary nanny and a regular pickup nanny as well as a date night sitter. I am currently working 32 hours a week with a six year old deaf autistic boy who lives on Wall Street, and he is about to head back to school. Once he's back he sadly won't need me, so I am looking for a new position. His parents asked that I note "we will absolutely recommend you as the best nanny to absolutely anyone." Ideally I’d like a part time role, though I’m also open to date night sitting. I'm currently living in Inwood. I regularly do one-time jobs for a wide variety of families, and have experience in newborns to teenagers. I've also worked with babies/children/teenagers with physical disabilities, severe food allergies, ADHD, Aspergers, autism, and those with lots of feelings. The parents I've worked for have had styles ranging from attachment parenting ("sprint to the baby the second she cries") to the REI method ("give the baby some time to self-settle before you go to her") to everything in between ("do whatever you want but for the love of god give her the blue bottle at lunchtime or she ll pitch a fit"). Before moving to New York five years ago, I was a nanny in Boston for a family who ran a daycare. My style is energetic, engaged, and optimistic - I genuinely love kids, and this is my preferred line of work for income. I find it fulfilling and a good personal fit. I'm active as a person and this carries over completely to my nanny work. My kids and I are always out at parks, museums, playgrounds, and making up imaginative games. One of my favorite compliments I've received is "oh thank god, Rebecca's here. I know she'll tire out the kids." Thanks much! Please don't hesitate to ask any questions. If I'm not the right fit for your family, I wish you the best of luck in your search.

Hello! I’m Anna, and I have many experience working with and caring for children of all ages. My passion for childcare began as the oldest sibling in my family and has grown through years of experience caring for children as well as working as a teacher’s assistant. I am patient, dependable, and dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. I enjoy planning fun, age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, reading, outdoor play, educational games, and creative learning. I’m also happy to help with homework, prepare simple meals, maintain daily routines, and assist with housekeeping. I am a licensed driver with reliable transportation and can assist with school drop-offs, pickups, appointments, and extracurricular activities. I am fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, allowing me to communicate comfortably with bilingual families. Families describe me as trustworthy, responsible, and easy to communicate with. I provide reliable, compassionate care that gives parents peace of mind while supporting each child’s growth and development. I would love the opportunity to get to know your family and become someone you can depend on. My schedule is very flexible so don’t be afraid to reach out!!

How’s it going , When it comes to raising four boys at home, The safety awareness skills you learn while mothering your own children will stay with you throughout your life. Racing my four boys taught me the stages of childhood development and what to expect at different ages. These skills are useful when working with kids at any time in the future and especially if you are planning on working with children to make living! How to entertain children With enough motherhood skills plus caring for other children, you can have child-entertaining down to a fine art. You can quickly become a master of playing, reading, singing, drawing, improvising, and having fun. Children get sick a lot (particularly when attending childcare centers), so caring for them when they are not well is something you will pick up right away. There are many tactics to know that can make a child feel more comfortable, loved, and to help them recover quicker. You can also learn how to prevent the spread of germs and stop other people from getting sick, including yourself! Helping children to understand their emotions, manage their feelings, and learn the difference between right and wrong behavior is challenging, but it is also a rewarding experience. There are many subtleties to learn and every family may have a slightly different set of disciplinary values they wish to uphold. Sometimes children are prone to tantrums. You can learn to pre-empt trigger situations, and how to plan around them. You can learn the art of distraction (very powerful) and if a tantrum does occur, you can learn how to stay calm in stressful situations while remaining firm with your principles. Child encouragement and motivation strategies! Explaining why things need to be done! Building trust, and; Leading by example. These learned strategies can be invaluable in your day-to-day when dealing with children. I hope this answers some of your questions and please to hesitate to contact me if you are willing to meet. I have excellent references available upon request. My references can attest to my dedication, reliability, and the positive impact I have had on the children I have cared for. Have a bless day.... "We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
