Erik 1 review
$23 per hour for 1 child

I enjoy babysitting and have been caring for children of all ages—including newborns, infants, toddlers, and school-aged kids for many years, especially growing up with younger siblings. My experience includes driving children to and from school, organizing crafts and activities, and providing elementary-level tutoring. In addition, I work as a household assistant and am happy to help with cleaning, cooking, running errands, transportation to appointments, and other daily tasks. I’m comfortable working in homes with pets and multi-generational families, including those with grandparents.

Erik was our nanny for 2–3 years, and if we could have taken him with us when we moved, we absolutely would have. He became such an important part of our family. Erik became such an important part of our family. He is an incredible caregiver — patient, loyal, and deeply trustworthy. He prepared meals for our children, handled overnights with confidence, and was always there whenever a situation came up. We always felt completely at ease knowing our kids were in his care. Any family would be so lucky to have him.

Archie 9 reviews
$30 per hour for 1 child

Hi! My name is Archie, a 33-year-old artist & nanny living in Brooklyn, NY. Thanks for taking the time to read a bit more about my work as a care professional! I have extensive experience with infants, toddlers, neurodivergent kids, and children with physical disabilities. I am well-versed in paced bottle feeding, developmental milestones, potty training, and approaches outlined in essential texts like "Big Little Feelings." To this work, I bring my own beliefs in time spent outdoors, laughter, emotional intelligence, self-expression, curiosity & the importance of arts/creativity! I'm an active play participant *with* the child - we can travel far and wide in our imaginations! When things get tough, I am here to listen, validate, and help find solutions that honor the child's needs and the healthy boundaries of other children and adults. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I also carry the belief that all children should be nurtured to live their truth in all that they do! It is important to mention that I am transgender, so I would only be able to work with families who can embrace that. While this is a truth about me, personally (and is something children are often curious about), I never "push" that idea on children or try to persuade them to be anything other than who they are! Playtime is serious business for me & I am always thinking of new ways to help kids discover, learn, & grow through our relationship. Put simply, I will care for your children, your home, and family as if they were my own. I hope to meet you & your family soon! Archie

Archie is the best nanny we have ever worked with. He is professional, responsible, sensitive to a kid's individual needs and our 3 year old just loves him.  Archie is a mature and communicative carer, and not only models that with his interactions with us parents, but also with his daily interactions with our kid.  Days with him are full of play, outdoor adventures, and helping out kid discover and interact with the world.  He centers the child in their days together, does frequent check-ins about their feelings and what is coming next, and remains calm and solution-oriented in tough spots. Archie is also an incredibly helpful person who has done things like empty the dishwasher, put away laundry etc. without being explicitly tasked with them.  We would always be happy to have Archie back in our lives, caring for our children.

Hi! My name is Makela, I attend college at LaGuardia Community College, where I’m studying to become a NICU nurse because I’ve always dreamed of caring for little ones. I’ve been looking after kids for about five years now, I have experience working with children aged 0-12 but mostly new borns/toddlers and children up to age of 9. The first job I had was at 14 caring for my little cousin who was a new born at the time and it’s something I’ve loved since the very beginning. I enjoy cooking, dancing, and making everyday moments fun while also being responsible and reliable. I also speak Spanish which is something I’m open to teaching. Most of all, I want to create a safe, happy space for kids and be someone they can look up to. I’d love the chance to bring my energy and care into your family!

Amazing young, responsible and kind lady. Thank you for being here for us!

Booked by 1 family in Long Island City, NY

Hi, I’m Diane I treat every dog or cat I care for like they’re my own, with love, and patience As a pet owner myself, I understand the importance of sticking to a routine, so if you have specific instructions for your pet, I’ll make sure to follow them closely. If your dog usually gets shorter walks, I’m happy to extend those to 45 minutes or more, depending on their needs. I’m also open to taking your pet to the dog park if that’s what they enjoy, or if they prefer some quieter indoor time, I’m more than happy to stay with them inside. Whether it’s a few days of sitting or just a walk, I’ll keep you updated with daily check-ins to make sure you know how your pet is doing. You can count on me to give your pet the same care and attention I give my own.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
