Megan 1 review
New York
$25 per hour for 1 child

Hi, I’m Meg! I’m a outdoorsy, kind, & dependable babysitter and current grad student based in Brooklyn with my own car. I have been in childcare for as long as I can remember — I earned my first Red Cross certification in 5th grade and have since worked in a variety of childcare capacities. Growing up in Colorado gave me a deeply rooted appreciation for spending time outdoors, and I enjoy planning active adventures and exploring parks whenever possible. I enjoy volunteering in NYC for Girls on the Run and Achilles Kids. As a summer camp counselor for the Snowmass Club, I supervised groups of 15-30 campers between the ages of 5 and 12. I led weekly outdoor recreation trips ranging from local hikes to river rafting, prioritizing children's safety throughout. For 4 years, I volunteered for a peer mentorship program as a “Big Buddy” for elementary and middle school students. Building one-on-one relationships refined my ability to connect with children of different ages and personalities. During the pandemic, I supported several families in a tutor role, helping elementary students remain engaged with remote learning while preparing lunch and planning craft projects.

Megan worked as one of my top camp counselors and had a magic way with the kiddos. The camp was ages 5-12 and she could mesh with anybody! Quick on her toes and the most caring counselor we had.

Allison New York
$20 per hour for 1 child

Hi — my name is Allison and I'm currently a senior in college! I am offering childcare and household errands. I have been babysitting/nannying since I was 13. I started nannying during the week while in college and was with my previous family for two years before I relocated to the city. As a kid, my family always joked that I was a baby carrying around babies — if I didn't have a babydoll on my hip it was because I had one of my little cousins there instead. I am big on arts & crafts and pretty much any creative pursuit! I have slight allergies to both dogs and cats — I'm okay if they're in the home, just let me know beforehand and I can take an allergy pill!

Melissa New York
$25 per hour for 1 child

Hi! My name is Melissa, I'm 31 years old and live in Manhattan near Carnegie Hall. I'm taking a break from corporate life (I'm a business intelligence developer normally) and want to make some cash doing something I love for a little bit while I figure out my next move. I've been babysitting since I was 12 years old for neighbors and friends and have continued babysitting ever since. I was a camp counselor for a few years for 3rd graders and have mastered coming up with games on the spot. I also have experience as a full-time nanny as well for a 2 y/o. I've recently been babysitting for some coworkers and parents at my gym! I've worked and love all ages (3m/o-13y/o). About me: I have an 80 pound dog that I adore, I'm currently training for my first half marathon (Brooklyn Half), I love to travel more than anything, and I love to cook and bake when I have free time. Academic background: I have undergraduate and graduate degrees from Virginia Tech in Business. I've worked mainly in the analytics space and love problem solving. I'd be happy to teach your kids how to code if they're interested :) Please reach out with any questions, I'm looking forward to chatting with you!!

Hello ! My name is Vi, I'm an artist offering childcare, seniorcare, petcare, and household services. I love spending time with kids, I even used to be one myself ! I taught children ages 3-8 various sports through my hometown's parks and recreation department for 2 years. I'm happy to tutor, make art, chaperone, and more. I offer household services as well, including cooking, cleaning, errands, and so on. I have a drivers license but don't have a car. When it comes to seniors, I've taken care of my grandmother bringing her to appointments and making sure she's fed and happy. I'm skilled at technology teaching/troubleshooting, and I love listening to people talk. I adore all pets and have a cat of my own, I just ask for clear instructions and I'm more than happy to accommodate (that goes for everything).

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
