I prioritize the safety and security of the children in my care, so I have an active certification in First Aid and CPR. On a professional level, I have experience working as a teacher at a non profit education program in Tribeca for children ages 6-9. I have also worked as a summer camp instructor for incoming first graders in East Harlem. On a personal level, I am the oldest of 4, and caregiving was a natural part of my childhood. For the age of 12, I was responsible for my younger siblings ages 1-9. I also provided care for other families in my neighborhood with them citing my dependability as the primary reason they trust me with their children who were in a similar age range to my siblings. Through these experience, I learned to be nurturing, creative, and responsible. I am able to plan fun and engaging activities, keep kids on a schedule, make healthy snack and light meals for children of every dietary restriction, and provide homework help. I especially love exploring the city, so I always incorporate activities that allows children to engage with their urban backyard. I also have experience caring for infants- feeding, diapering, burping, tummy time, nap time etc - and I have general knowledge of infant safety and development. I also learned that I need to remain flexible in order to adapt to the unique needs of the children in my care. Additionally, I am comfortable with pets, and I have a special affinity for cats.
