$27 per hour for 1 child

Peace to you! My name is Abba. I grew up in Port Orchard, and have spent most of my adult life in Seattle. I enjoy being active and exploring my environment, which is what has always drawn me to child care! I most recently nannied a sweet and energetic 2 year old and had been working with the same family since October 2022. I’ve worked at kids camps, baby sat for years, and have 12 nieces and nephews whom I have often taken care of and helped raise. My favorite part about childcare is the excitement children often bring to any kind of activity, there is so much learning, exploring, and growing happening in our early years . As an adult its nice to be reminded of the everyday 'awes' of being a human! Not to mention, a privilege to take part in so many of someone’s “firsts”. I truly feel fulfilled in spending time and caring for children, and value mutual respect between kids and care-givers. I implement developmentally appropriate activities of all kinds into daily routines, to encourage habitual learning. I am an artist, which translates into fun crafts and sensory exploration activities for kids! I love the outdoors rain or shine and don’t mind facilitating activities that may be deemed “messy”. Additionally, I have a deep love of gardening and growing food, as well as participating in various forms of community. I value respect and care between myself and parents, as we are a team! I would love to chat and get to know you and your family, I also have a detailed resume I can share, I encourage you to reach out! Adult/Infant CPR & First Aid certified

Abba was a full-time nanny four our daughter from age 1-3, and we were devastated when our daughter graduated onto preschool and Abba wasn't here every day anymore. I cannot recommend Abba enough - they're unbelievably caring, professional, easy-going, dynamic, communicative, and they always went above and beyond what was expected. You're lucky to get Abba as a sitter.

Rent an Auntie! Remember when we all lived in the village or tribe and taking care of each other, our children and our elders was as easy as asking an Auntie to come over and help out? Most of us don’t. But not one to let that stop me, I have claimed my role as “Auntie” both personally and professionally. Do you need childcare? Pet care? Eldercare? I’m your Auntie! CHILDCARE Personally I have many nieces/nephews/extended family that I have helped raise in one way or another, which weaves into my professional experiences as a teacher. Both of which are some of the most fulfilling of my life. From my time as an early childhood educator through my years as teacher and director of a K-8 forest school, being gifted with the wonder and excitement of what it feels like to be a guide to these geniuses that were unfolding in their own unique ways, set me into my purpose. I love to water the flowers and watch them grow. And my training in the Woldorf approach, education in developmental psychology, and experience in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) has given me plenty to water with! One of my super powers is inventing fun and creative projects and activities especially tailored to the needs and interests of the kids in my care. Is tutoring needed? Is there a lot of energy that needs an outlet? Outdoor activities? Plant ID hikes? A creative outlet? Painting? Sculpture? Board games? Teach cooking or just prepare meals? I’m your Auntie! Do you need someone who has experience with special needs children and those moving through the challenges of ASD? I’m your Auntie! Or someone who used to be a volunteer cuddler at Children’s Hospital to cuddle your little one? Change diapers? Clean messy high chair hijinks? I’m your Auntie! PET CARE Would you like someone whose mom was a veterinarian and has basic animal healthcare techniques and training? Someone who taught on a farm and adores all creatures? Someone who loves belly rubs and ear scritches? I’m your fur baby’s Auntie! ELDERCARE Does Grandfather want someone to listen to his stories? Would Grandmother like someone to cook her famous recipe for dinner? A puzzle to finish? Cards to play? A watercolor to paint? I’m your Auntie! Would you feel more secure with someone who is CPR/First Aid Certified? Who has handled multiple emergencies with both kids and pets? Call up your Auntie!

Shannon is sooo great with our girls 6 and 4 and baby boy. Highly recommend!

Hi- My name is Dylan! I enjoy partnering with parents to ensure children receive the nurturing, consistency, care, and fun they need. I am a kid at heart and love to get down on the floor (or up in a play structure) to play with kids, encouraging their imagination, doing age appropriate science and art projects, adventuring outdoors, and facilitating their brain development through play, reading, and singing. It is important to me to model empathy, respect, and acceptance with the goal of empowering children to solve problems. Additionally, I am very skilled at multi-tasking and time management to ensure the safety and well being of all children in my care. Biggest strength: I give kids the attention they deserve! I am regularly referred to by parents as the 'kid whisperer' or 'Pied Piper.' While some believe I have magical powers (especially toddlers!), in truth, I am simply present and attuned to their needs and wants, through the laughter and tears. Experience: I have over 15 years experience as a babysitter and nanny for children birth to 12 years, providing care for up to 5 children at a time in the family's home and traveling. Including extensive 24/7 care for parent work/fun trips, Philosophy: I feel strongly about following the family's routine and general style of parenting for consistency and a sense of safety for your kid(s). With that said, I engage a gentle parenting style and natural consequences rather than punishment, do not engage kids with screens (with minor exceptions), and love to help tidy, if you are open. Specifics: I have experience as a newborn night nanny, birth and postpartum doula. I have worked with single parent, blended, multiracial & LGBTQ+ families. I have worked with preemies, newborns, twins, neurodivergence (ADD/ADHD, autism, OCD), food allergies/special diets, and trauma (medical, bullying, and DV). Neurodivergence Experience: Nonverbal (with and without comm boards), toileting, care/support during meltdowns, sensory seeking, special food prep. Animals: I love them! Happy to pet, potty, and feed your fur family as well. Or ignore, in the case of an aloof kitty :-) Education: BA: Leadership & Human Services Antioch U - Seattle (2014) Infant/Child CPR/First Aid - 12/25 Newborn Care Specialist Certificate - 12/25 Work History: 10+ years in social work directly supporting homeless youth, mental illness and SUD in homeless adults, and medically fragile individuals. Happy to share ample glowing references!

Dylan is wonderfully responsive and responsible and amazingly kind. He worked as night support for us with three babies in the house. We slept! Dylan also watched our very challenging 9 year old. We are so grateful for Dylan and how he relates to babies and young children. We would absolutely hire again!

Hi, I’m MJ, and I’m 29 years old. I have many years of childcare experience and have been caring for children since I was 15, working with newborns, infants, toddlers, and school-age kids. Right now, I’m currently nannying for two children, ages 6 and 8, and I also provide backup care by covering shifts for a full-time nanny when needed. This has given me strong experience adapting quickly to different family routines, school schedules, activities, and household needs. In the past, I also cared for a baby from 3 months to 12 months old, so I’m very comfortable with infant care, including feeding, diaper changes, nap schedules, and creating a safe, nurturing environment. I enjoy engaging children through play, reading, educational activities, tutoring, and helping with routines such as swimming lessons. In addition to childcare, I can assist with light household tasks, organizing, errands, and pet care. I’m a dog owner myself, so I’m very comfortable caring for pets as part of supporting a busy household.

MJ is so kind & my boys had nothing but great things to say about her ! I would definitely hire her again! 10 out of 10 I really recommend hiring MJ for your family !

Hi, I’m Summer! I’m currently a part time nanny for twin 5 year olds and looking to pick up extra hours while I’m on break from school. I study Speech Pathology online and got certified this year to teach kids yoga which I’ve been loving and teach on occasion. I also have experience teaching swim lessons and have several years of childcare experience with kids of all ages, including multiple sets of twins. I’m CPR and First Aid certified and enjoy keeping kids engaged with fun activities that help them learn and grow.

Summer was fantastic! She was professional, warm and engaging and my 10 year old daughter loved her from the second she walked through the door. Will definitely hire Summer again!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
