Hi, I’m Sarah and am a senior at the UW studying Geography and Information systems (GIS). I’m born and raised in Seattle and have been working with kids for the past few years. I’ve worked at a daycare, where I spent a year specializing in the toddler (2-year-old) room, as well as volunteering at elementary summer camps. Right now, I spend my weekends teaching a program for 8-12 year olds, and last year, I worked with a nonprofit running after-school activities for kids who needed extra support. Family is important to me, last year, I had the joy of helping care for my infant nephew when my sister welcomed him into the world. From infants to pre-teens, I love connecting with kids through play and learning. When I’m not babysitting or studying, you’ll find me curled up with a book or when I can find the time exploring new hiking trails.

My career life for the past 6 years has been different avenues of childcare. The avenues I followed were, Daycare worker, before and after school care. Many different roads, but they all have a common interest CHILDREN. I wanted to nurture and teach young children. At the age of eighteen, I liked the idea of playing all day and getting paid for it.
