Hi! My name is Mariana, I’m an art student and childcare provider with 6+ years of experience currently offering backup care and occasional babysitting. Also open to pet sit! (I’m a dog owner and lover hehe). I’m a responsible, dedicated and experienced professional nanny with a background in art education - very creative and patient. I absolutely love working with kids and have been watching infants through toddlerhood and kids - including siblings and experience in a nanny share set up. My responsibilities have included driving to/ from school and activities, museum/ library/ parks visits, arts and crafts and help with school projects/ homework. My job also involves cooking/ cleaning after the kids and running errands for the families if need to. I’m originally from Brazil and I love traveling and learn new cultures. I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish and I’m learning Italian. I can adapt and learn with ease. Currently I have a fix schedule with a couple of families and looking forward working with new amazing families either in a regular basis or occasionally. Open to last minute backup care if I’m available - i keep my calendar up to date. Happy to schedule phone/ video interviews and I do my best to keep parents comfortable while their kiddos are on my care! Thank you :)

“It was my first time leaving my baby with someone and Mariana eased all my worries and handled everything (including bedtime) like a pro! ”

I grew up with 3 sisters and 2 brothers and we had dogs and cats. I played sports and first babysat at the age of 13. I love the beach and body surfing, I love to sing to the little ones and teach them songs, I like to have fun reading books, eating food, playing with just about anything (just a glass of ice water is entertainment for 30 minutes with a 15 month old-- yes, ice.. first it's solid and then magic-it disappears). I love to problem solve... or use the tool of distraction. And I do believe that "to every task that must be done there is an element of fun". I work part-time at the Ferry Building Book Passage and have been there for two and a half years, it's a great environment and I enjoy working with the public. There a lot of kids who come in on the weekends and I have fun getting to know them and what they like to read. I have been taking care of a year and a half boy for spurts this past year and it's been so much fun. We would go to the Main Library storytime for an outting and it was a real treasure. It is such a pleasure to work with kids, as they are so much in to the moment.

“Thank you so much for your help! Would definitely recommend Lorraine, she was wonderful.”
