Hello there! My name is Paloma and I have over 25 years of experience working with kids of all ages, from infants to teenagers. I truly love working with all ages in a variety of settings. I worked professionally as an elementary school garden teacher and outdoor educator for many years, and as a nanny for many years as well. I am also the eldest of six siblings, who now have children of their own, so childcare just comes naturally to me. What is most important for me about working with kids is providing a loving space for them to have creative fun and develop a sense of connection. I’m good at everything from imaginative play to homework time to dinner and bed time. I especially love to get outside with kids. My passion in life is connecting with people and sharing the beauty of this human experience with each other as a means of creating community. Nearly all of the jobs I have ever had involve working with people of all different ages. I babysat for local families all through high school and college, spent two summers working as a camp counselor for middle and high schoolers, and most recently helped care for a friend's grandmother in an in-home care setting. I recently finished a bachelor's degree through WWU's Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies in which I explored themes of community and care work, which involved taking birth and postpartum doula courses. I am currently in a transition period between traveling and moving out of state, and am looking for work until mid-October.
