My name is Emma and I am a passionate, experienced teacher and educator with a goal to make a difference for the families I work with. I have over 18 years of childcare experience and have worked in Spain, France and Switzerland in addition to the US as a nanny and babysitter as well as private tutor for children ages 5 months-18. I was born in the United States (Connecticut) and have worked in the public and private school system in the northeastern United States, California, Hawaii and France and Switzerland. I taught preschool and elementary school for over 11 years, after graduating from Smith College. In addition, I recently began teaching high school French, ELL and Spanish. I am currently a high school French teacher at an international school in Thornwood New York. My overall childcare experience began in 2007, when I started working as a nanny in CT; from there, I continued throughout my teaching career to do childcare work. I hold a B.A. in French and Education from Smith College (Northampton, MA, USA, May 2007) and a Masters degree in Educational Sciences from University of Geneva ( Geneva, Switzerland, June, 2023). The summer of 2023, I worked as a live-in Aupair for a family in Sant Cugat, Catalonia, Spain, and learned basic Spanish during this time. I am the oldest of three girls and grew up on Long Island. I currently work in the publishing industry and love it, but excited to be working with kids again. I have a Bachelors degree from Syracuse University and currently live in the West Village. I’ve worked with kids of all ages and comfortable around animals. I’ve done everything from camp counseling, house sitting, cooking, etc. I love to read, ski, workout, listen to music and watch movies.
