Now I work as a family therapist, and I love to provide babysitting services as a way of staying connected to my roots! I enjoy getting to know each child as an individual, and creating the best environment for them. I have worked with children, teens, and young adults with varying needs, including children with autism, Down syndrome, epilepsy, asthma, and moderate to severe behavioral diagnoses. I am comfortable with and trained to administer medications, including epi-pens. I have experience with cloth diapering, baby led weaning, and various parenting styles- it’s important for me to connect with the way you prefer your child to be interacted with.

Hi, my name is Charmaine. I've been working with children since I was 13 and truly love doing it! I started by babysitting for kids in my neighborhood. At 16 started working part time as a helper at a daycare center. I was a principal of the same daycare for 2 years and now a full time nanny looking for babysitting opportunities. I've worked with kids of all ages, I am infant qualified and know CPR and first aid. I am a mother of 3. my daughter is 18 and my son is 6 and my other daughter is 2. my parents did foster care when I was younger, so I was exposed to all sorts of people and kids. I babysat for years, worked at a daycare and helped with many kids programs in my area and community. I love to be silly and creative.

I am a Portland native and I worked as a teacher for 4 years. I graduated with my BA from Lewis & Clark College and earned my MAT at the University of Portland. I am currently a volunteer on the board of a nonprofit and am starting up a small online business with an old friend. I enjoy soccer, hiking, singing with my gospel choir, teaching Girl Scouts how to sew, and I’m currently renovating a vintage Airstream. I started baby-sitting as a ten-year-old, and have since worked with children of all ages. Most of my experience is with elementary school age kids, but I love babies and toddlers as well.
