Hi, I’m Charlie! I’ve lived in Portland for about 3 years now, but I am originally from Massachusetts. I am currently a senior psychology student at Reed College and I am planning to go to medical school post-grad. I have worked with kids of many ages, either through volunteering with schools (tutoring), or looking after family members and children of close family friends. I plan to work with kids in behavioral analyst positions, too, once I finish my undergrad degree. I am also taking some art courses and American Sign Language this summer; I love crafting, making art, and learning new things. In my free time I play music and sing. I unfortunately do not have a car or a driver’s license, but do plan on getting my license sometime this summer. I would call myself a very responsible, innovative, and caring person. I am also very attentive to detail, as as well as being CPR certified! Hi! My name is Maya! I love playing and learning alongside children and am highly patient and compassionate. I currently work as a part-time preschool teacher with kids 2-5 years old. I work with an awesome staff supervising 15 children where I help prepare lunches and snacks, assist in toileting when necessary, and engage in creative indoor/outdoor play. I have experience working with kids on the spectrum and other neurodivergence. I'm registered in the Oregon Central Background Registry and am pediatric CPR + first aid certified. I also occasionally babysit my neighbor's child, a 7-year old. We like to play outside, read, harvest fruits from the neighborhood, talk, and build. I love to be with kids outside and in garden spaces and have led volunteers at the children's garden at Wapato Island Farm. I grew up with five siblings and I believe it has made me a good listener and a compassionate mediator. In high school I regularly volunteered at my old Kindergarten-8th grade school. In college I worked at my school's daycare looking after kids mainly 6 months to 5 years in age. I drive up to WA every month to help my sister with her now 3 years old and I feel so lucky to be present for his different developmental stages. I love working with kids because they are learning about themselves and the world for the first time and I think that is very special. They are also great conversationalists. I value listening, kindness, empathy, and being silly. In my free time I study plant medicine, guitar, and Bahasa Indonesia.

My formal education background is in art history so I love encouraging creativity in children. I have been babysitting since I was 11 (starting as an assistant to my older sister). I love getting to know the child's interest and joining them in their play. With my past families, I began watching them as infants and into their toddler years. With some of the children, we had a great time building forts or lego cities of their dreams! In the past, I've taken the Red Cross Babysitting certification which breaks down the stages of child development. It also taught signs of emergency situations. I've also grown up with many cousins and was lucky to gain experience babysitting them at all ages. I've also had past experience in cat sitting which was very minimal (feeding, ensuring medication was taken, and cleaning litter). I believe I've gained more insight now that I live with two cats aged 1 and 3! I also spent a summer cleaning vacation rentals within an allotted three hour window with provided supplies. When it comes to cleaning, I pride myself in being very detailed oriented.

Hi my name is Sophia! I am currently a student at MHCC studying for nursing! I am offering child, senior, and pet care as well as some house keeping. I have been working in assisted memory senior care as an in-home care giver and also in a facility for about 5 years now. There, I prepared food, I did transferring, changes, cleaning, showering, medical applications, monitoring, feeding and behavioral and mental health as well. I don’t have much experience with children other than babysitting my nieces and nephew(toddlers and older)a little bit when I was younger but I really want to have more experience and learn more since I am currently taking a course on child development for my studies. I love children and I hope to learn more on how to care for them and how to do it well in the physical and mental aspects. I will try my best to provide a good and healthy environment for the children so they can learn and be their best selves. I have only learned to cook and clean at home and I find myself to be organized and a good thorough cleaner. So I don’t mind to offer some of my services in that!
