Hi! I'm Simone, and I'm excited to get back to working directly with families after a few years doing operations work in creative settings and at a nonprofit teaching STEM to kids in Portland. (Turns out I missed the hands on part!) I've got over a decade of experience with kids of all ages: nannying long term and watching kids grow from pre K through second grade, four years at the Children's Creativity Museum in San Francisco, volunteering with children's library programming doing summer reading and fairs, substitute teaching at an outdoor preschool, and before that, helping out in a daycare. I love getting to know kids as individuals and figuring out what makes each person tick. I've worked with neurodivergent kids regularly and genuinely enjoy finding the best way to connect. I've also done a lot of date night sitting, so I'm totally comfortable stepping in with kids I don't know as well yet and making sure they have a great night while you get out and actually have fun. From school pickups, to swim lessons or Bob Ross painting parties, I've done it all, and I'm excited to find exactly what makes each kid light up and have the most fun. I studied Art History at Academy of Art, and I bring that into how I work with kids: thinking about creativity, play, and discovery as the best approach! Hello, my name is Jade and I work as a consulting environmental scientist in Portland, Oregon. I grew up in Seattle and have worked as a babysitter in Seattle and The Bay Area. I have been caring for children on and off since I was a teenager, worked as a nanny and lifeguard through college, then later as an environmental educator and volunteer coordinator, and have maintained CPR/First Aid certification. I've worked as a "date night" sitter, as a nanny where my daily responsibilities included walking older children to school and caring for toddlers or infants during the work day, with parents either also working in the home or running errands, and as a to and from school driver. Most recently I nannied regularly for a family in Olympia, WA with a 10 month old and a 4 year old several days a week. On occasion I will work with a nonprofit when they need childcare service for an event. I've worked with children aged 2 mos through 14 years of age, with the eldest being uniquely abled (Downs) and requiring additional support with homework and developing life skills. I enjoy exploring nature with children, taking kids on walks and day-trips, dancing, making art, building forts, playing games, helping kids practice responsibility and awareness of self and others, and supporting kids to think both creatively and critically. I have been working in the field of Occupational Therapy for 33 years, 17 of them in the schools with children with special needs. I have raised three children of my own and have 5 delightful Grandchildren. I like to plan fun age and developmentally appropriate activities to assist in developing self-esteem, creativity, self-expression, curiosity, character and compassion. I enjoy seeing and assisting children thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. My Grandchildren know that "Nana's" most important job is keeping them safe. I encourage children to problem solve and to communicate openly. Communication is key in all my relationships no matter the age. I was a life guard as a young adult, a Girl Scout leader and volunteered for outdoor adventure companies that work with the physically challenged population. I even taught adaptive PE for a term. I co-owned an organic farm CSA for 10 joyous years. We also made herbal products and sold them at the Farmer's Market. I am an animal lover as well so be assured that your pets will also receive attention. Some call me the dog or the cat-whisperer... (Side note: I am a petsitter as well). I don't watch much TV as there are too many other choices as my interests are numerous from backpacking, kayaking, traveling especially in the developing world, volunteering, spending time with animals, my family and friends and of course my Grandchildren, reading, music, the performing arts, skiing, crocheting, yoga, crafts, gardening and trying to make this world a little more kind, more fun, lighter... Life is to be celebrated as it is a gift to share and enjoy with others and possibly to make their life a bit easier along the way.

Hello! I'm Bec and I am a graduate of Northwestern University. I grew up in Seattle and returned to the PNW to get my MFA in creative writing; I now teach college English classes. I spent my years at Northwestern teaching drama classes in the Chicagoland area and working with Seesaw Theatre, an arts advocacy group that creates one-on-one sensory immersive theatre for kids with autism and other developmental disabilities (I then worked with a similar group in NYC for three years). I nannied for a crew of elementary schoolers, and eventually a toddler sibling as well, for four years. I’ve also worked as a DSP. Between teaching drama classes, babysitting, nannying, teaching swim lessons, and working at a childcare center in high school, I have worked with kiddos from three months old to eighteen years old! In my free time I write, read, and make theatre.
