HOUSEHOLD ASSISTANT / FAMILY SUPPORT Location: South Loop, Chicago Start Date: January 2, 2027 Schedule: Saturday 9:00 AM–3:00 PM; Sunday 10:00 AM–2:00 PM We are looking for a dependable, organized, proactive Household Assistant to support our family and help keep our home running smoothly. The primary focus of this role is household support. Childcare is an important but secondary responsibility. We have two young children, Kelsey, age 2, and Aiden, an infant. At times you may provide direct childcare; at other times, a parent may be caring for the children while you focus on household responsibilities. Household Responsibilities - Load/unload dishwasher and reset kitchen - Hand-wash designated items, bottles, and breast-pump parts - Children’s laundry; occasional adult folding - Restock diapers, wipes, feeding supplies, and changing areas - Tidy/reset kitchen, nursery, play areas, and common spaces - Light vacuuming, trash, and spot cleaning - Refrigerator/freezer and household organization - Monitor supplies and notify parents when items are low - Receive and put away deliveries - Complete small rotating organization projects - Prepare simple meals, HelloFresh meals, fruits/vegetables, breakfast foods, smoothies, and children’s meals/snacks Childcare - Safely supervise Kelsey and Aiden - Bottle feeding, diapering, naps, and basic infant care - Toileting, dressing, hygiene, and routines for Kelsey - Reading, puzzles, music, pretend play, outdoor play, and other age-appropriate activities - Track Aiden’s bottles, diapers, and sleep in Huckleberry when responsible for his care - Sunday hair care for Kelsey, including washing, detangling, moisturizing, and styling Child safety always comes first. When a parent is caring for the children, the expectation is that you transition to appropriate household tasks. Professional Expectations We are a warm, family-centered home with clear routines and high standards. We value reliability, punctuality, discretion, initiative, attention to detail, and follow-through. Personal phone use should be limited while working. We will provide the device for the Huckleberry app. We are a shoe-free home. Filtered water is available. Household food and groceries are reserved for the family. No food or drinks are permitted in the nursery; Kelsey may have water only in her water bottle. Additional Availability Additional hours may be available when agreed upon in advance.
