Hi there! I'm Valerie, a graduate student and experienced sitter in South Slope. I'm currently pursuing my Master's in Art History at Hunter College. This past spring, I graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Art History (and with High Honors, induction into Phi Beta Kappa, and Departmental Awards). I was born and raised in New York. I'm available for occasional work during the week, including evening babysitting, dog sitting, house sitting, and help with cleaning and home organization. I have experience working with toddlers and school-aged children. I am 92NY certified for babysitting. I also have plenty of experience with dog and cat sitting. I grew up immersed in the arts -- especially visual art and theater -- and am a classically trained pianist. I'm happy to help kids practice piano or assist with homework, particularly in humanities-related subjects. Happy to answer any questions!
Hi, my name is Lola and I feel tremendous respect for children as they are so free and spontaneous; great teachers :) .. my experience is based on caring for my own son (now 21 years old); my niece and nephews (now 18-21 years old). I was a stay at home mom most of the time so I lived the experience by raising children and also being the recurring host for all their friends as well :). I helped them with homework and study for all school years, cooked and fed them; took care of all their needs and extra curricular activities; they are now in College and also hold each one high degrees in different fields like: black belt on MMA; college soccer; professional soccer; electric guitar player; artist (drawer/painter). I am very cautious and pay attention to detail; follow instructions; communicate well and in a timely manner. I also love music, dancing, playing, walking, going to the park; reading, baking :), blowing bubbles; help with school work. I am fluent in English and Spanish; I have a bachelors degree in Economics and I am also a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I also own a dog myself :) his name is Cristiano and he is very happy and spoiled. Please fell free to ask about any questions or concerns that you may have :)

I am an early childhood educator with over 20 years of experience working with young children. I hold an MSEd in Early Childhood Education and love exploring all types of activities with children, from arts and crafts, to baking, dramatic play, science explorations, outdoor play, and so much more. Additionally, as a mom to two children of my own, a teen and a pre-teen, I have been through it all and am happy to assist parents in every way that I can.

I believe in 'learning through play' and enjoy making every experience an engaging one. Hi there! I'm Jemima, a Human Biology student at Hunter College with plans to become a nurse and pediatric speech-language pathologist. Some fun facts about myself are that I am a self-taught guitarist, enjoy reading, and love working with children. Caring for children has always been something I genuinely enjoy, and I love creating a safe, fun, and enjoyable environment where kids can learn/ grow and feel comfortable. I have experience caring for children, from toddlers through middle school ages through summer camp programs, assisting in a kindergarten classroom, volunteering at Vacation Bible School at my church, daycare, and babysitting my younger cousin. I'm happy to help with homework as I love to learn, prepare crafts, games, and meals in addition to bedtime routines, and keeping children engaged while parents are away. I am an incredibly creative person and love to help with any household tasks. I am CPR/AED certified for both infants/children and adults, and safety is always my top priority. Families can count on me to be patient, dependable, responsible, and attentive to each child's individual needs. These experiences working with kids have strengthened my passion for not only supporting children's growth and well-being but also wanting to pursue a career working with the pediatric population as I know I can make a difference. I'm happy to commute throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens, and I'd love the opportunity to support your family!

Hi there, I’m Sanne (pronounced like sauna). I live in the west village of manhattan with my dog Beanie! I was laid off in May and am looking for a part time, date night/afternoons position while I look for another job. I’m great with kids and animals, I grew up playing sports so nothing I love more than playing outside! I’m also a big bookworm and will advocate for the library over the TV any day. I believe kids are smarter than we give them credit for and deserve a gentle, care free life. I also love to clean and have no problem helping keep things tidy. So if you’re looking for an extra set of hands, I’m happy to step in!
