I am an NYC-based teacher, currently teaching 7th grade ELA. Next year, I will be teaching 4th Grade (all subjects). I am NYSED certified in ELA, Theatre, and Elementary Education. In addition to my experience in education, I have worked as a part-time/freelance nanny and child care provider in NYC for over ten years. I have an MA in Educational Theatre from NYU and am certified in CPR, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid. I have also been fingerprinted/background checked by the NYC Department of Education. I am an animal lover with two cats (my former fosters). I grew up around dogs, cats, goats, and llamas and love all animals. After moving to New York for school, I majored in Creative Writing and minored in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. I have babysat for a few families in the city (some for several years) for kids ranging in age from 18 months to 12 years. Hi there! I’m Micah. I recently moved to the area after getting married, and while I’m a writer by trade, caring for kids has always been something I truly love. Over the past four years, I’ve gained experience as both a babysitter and nanny, working with children of all ages—from energetic school-aged kids to some of the world’s sweetest infants and toddlers. I’m happy to help with cooking (and I’m a pretty great baker!), homework support, and light household tasks to keep things running smoothly. I am a recent NYU graduate who studied acting and filmmaking. I've recently moved from NYC to Sunny LA! I love the outdoors, art, fitness, and finding fun new eats in the city. Growing up in a large family myself, and being the eldest girl, I've always loved taking care of children. During my time in NYC I provided childcare for my professors, as well as families in the Brooklyn area! From playing imaginative games, helping with homework, or exploring the city to find things to make them smile, I would describe myself as an experienced, playful, and kind caregiver. Hi there! I'm Karina, a recent NYU graduate offering child and pet care! As the eldest in my family I've been working with kids since I was little and love to work with the PreK-12 age range. I also work as an after school lead tutor with the NYPL during the school year and can help that same age range with any homework subject. I can work with children individually or with as many as 5 kids at a time. I speak fluent Spanish and intermediate French. My goal with children is to inspire a love of learning and sense of wonder in the world around them and to do so through fostering curiosity, empathy, and a mutual sense of respect.
