Caroline 2 reviews
Brooklyn
$25 per hour for 1 child

(New profile - waiting on reviews - can provide references) Hello! My name is Caroline, and I'm a writer originally from Dallas, Texas now living in the North Williamsburg/South Greenpoint area. I recently graduated from NYU and have a flexible work schedule, so I’m available for occasional or regular babysitting! I grew up as the 2nd oldest child (firstborn daughter) in a LARGE, multi-home blended family with animals constantly around, so I've been looking after other kids (and pets) since I was a kid myself :) I absolutely love working with kids because every day brings something new and rewarding—whether it’s seeing a child achieve a milestone or simply sharing a laugh. I have 8 years of regular caregiving experience for other families in both Texas and New York City. I've worked with children from infancy to high school age, including children with special needs/disabilities. I'm well-versed in sibling dynamics and open to providing hands-on care for 2-3 children at a time -- potentially more depending on the ages of the children and/or in nanny-share situations. I started babysitting at 14 during my high school years, which I spent serving my community as a peer mentor and "PAL" (peers in assistance, leadership, & service) for children who had ongoing personal hardships, suffered recent traumatic events, and/or were new to the school. I started working with kids of varied cognitive disabilities in grade school as apart of a volunteer special education program, so I am comfortable working with children who have differentiating physical and/or mental functionalities. I believe that play is one of the best ways for kids to learn and grow, so I love creating fun, imaginative activities that engage kids while helping them develop new skills. I'm happy to help with homework (bonus: I'm trilingual) in any subject, to the best of my ability. I’m not a "passive" sitter - I love to keep kids engaged, and am committed to facilitating and maintaining their routines. I'm a big believer in bedtime stories, positivity, and patience. Other bonuses: I've cared for sick or wounded animals at home and volunteering at an animal sanctuary, and worked as a petsitter/dog-walker 10-15 hrs/wk while in college. Every child and home is unique. I want to be as attuned to their/your needs and preferences as possible, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a call or meeting.

Alex Los Angeles
$25 per hour for 1 child

Dear Parents, my name is Alex and I am a caring, energetic, and reliable caregiver who is an LA native. I attended Harvard-Westlake high school and NYU. I did a lot of babysitting in college when I was in NYC and I am looking to get back into it as I try to support my career as a screenwriter in Hollywood. When I was twenty my dad had two daughters with his new wife so I have spent the last ten years watching my two beautiful half sisters grow up. I lived at the house with them from basically the time they were born until they were seven and five. I cared for them as babies and was constantly playing with them as we were all stuck in quarantine together during COVID. I did everything with them from constant games, to dress up, to even teaching them how to swim in our pool. When we weren't playing I helped prepare them meals, bathed them after dinner, and read books / sang songs to them to put them to bed. I currently live in an apartment in Brentwood with my girlfriend and have flexible hours to be a caregiver as I work around my writing schedule. I am comfortable with kids of all ages, from babies to teenagers and I also love animals. I am 31 years old and a few of my friends have started having kids and I am always the first one they call when they need a sitter. I am confident that with all my experience with kids and a fun loving personality I can be a perfect fit for your family. I look forward to working with you and caring fro your child.

$17 per hour for 1 child

Poet & educator here, with years of K-12 classroom experience & a heart for the neurodiverse. Ms. Frizzle and Mr. Rogers are my role models, and I tend to brim with curiosity and contagious wonder ready to share with your loved ones. I'm an avid listener and love to ask folks about their stories, share poems, and encourage kids' imaginative play. You can expect warmth, open-mindedness, patience, and always a spiritual tail-wagging affirmative to the question "can we go for a walk? Hike? Adventure?" (As an aside, I have extensive experience with pet, farm, & garden care. Happy to assist in any of these capacities!)

Meaghan New York
$25 per hour for 1 child

Hello! My name is Quinn (Meaghan is my legal name which you have to use to register). I'm a native New Yorker with over 10 years of experience working with children. I live in Brooklyn with my dog, Bagel. I've spent the last 2 years as a substitute teacher at 3 different schools & as an occasional babysitter. Previously, I worked as a Kindergarten teacher at Grace Church before ultimately deciding that, though I love working with kids, I did not want to pursue teaching as a career. I also spent 3 yrs at St. Luke's where I developed and taught my own afterschool classes. In my experience babysitting, I've worked for families with 1-3 kids, ages 1-13. I have extensive experience working with kids with learning disabilities/differences (autism, dyslexia, ADHD) as well as a range of different emotional/behavioral needs. Ideally looking for at least 20hrs/wk. I can guarantee a year's commitment, and likely would be able to stay on longer.
