Hi, I'm Shavonne. I have a Bachelor's degree in Child and Adolescent Development and have 10+ years babysitting experience. Besides babysitting I have various experiences working with children: I've worked as a youth tennis coach, taught Sunday school for 5-7 year olds, was a respite care worker for a child with special needs, interned in an infant classroom at a highly reputed lab school, spent almost 4 years teaching preschool and now I have been doing child development work for SF county for over 5 years. I have experience babysitting children ranging in age from 2 weeks to teenagers and families of up to 5 early childhood aged siblings at once. While babysitting, I enjoy engaging the children in arts and crafts activities; imaginative play; outings to parks and museums; and helping school aged children with homework. In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, playing tennis, and spending time with friends and family.

*I am fully vaccinated and boosted.* - I do not mind working at late hours into the night and for you to extend your hours if needed. - I have been with UrbanSitter for 9 years and have babysat for children ranging from infant to 10 years old. I used to also volunteer at a child care, consecutively for 4 years, over the summer where I looked after 5-7 children at a time and helped with play and reading time, arts & crafts, snack and lunchtime, and naptime; these children's ages ranged from 6 months to 4 years. - I enjoy caring for children and engaging with them through reading, baking and going on outings such as the park or beach. I also do not mind having animals in the home while I am babysitting. POLICIES: -RATES: I negotiate my rates based on the expectations and requirements of the job. My rate stays the same whether or not the child(ren) is/are sleeping or awake. -MINIMUM: I have a three-hour minimum for bookings. This can be flexible for certain situations. -EARLY RETURNS: I plan and budget around the number of hours booked so I do request to be paid the full amount even if you may arrive early. -LATE RETURNS: I always try and be flexible with parents on timing, especially with date night bookings. If you need any extra time please let me know beforehand.

I am about to start full time work as an associate marriage and family therapist. I had heard so many great things about Urban Sitter from friends, so I decided to join in on the fun in 2015! I worked for Urban Sitter from 2015 to 2023, everything from occasional to full time. Unfortunately I had to take a medical leave last year—but now I’m healthy, out of school and can’t wait to work with your kids again. It might not be my full time job anymore, but kids are the best reprieve from the stressors of my day job. I have experience with a wide age range, from kids as young as two weeks to as old as eleven years. I've worked with over 100 families by now, so I'm pretty well prepared for what's thrown my way! I'd say the age range I tend to work best with is infant to toddler--but that's not to say I don't enjoy working with kids older. Got a seven year old obsessed with Pokemon? Me too. I'm all for it. Note: Due to ever increasing gas prices and bridge toll, please note that I will usually not travel to SF or across another bridge for a job less than $100 overall. I'm usually flexible on the end time of a booking, but text/call if you'll be late, especially if we have not discussed flexibility beforehand. I occasionally book jobs back-to-back with just enough time for travel in between, and your late return can have an unfortunate impact on my schedule. CANCELLATIONS: For cancellations with less than 48 hours notice, I expect 50% of the original booking amount.
