Hi there! My name is MeganElizabeth, but you can call me Meg or Megan. I am 25 and moved to Columbus about a year ago from Greenville, OH. I’ve been caring for kids most of my life—starting at age 10 by helping care for my 6-month-old nephew under my mom’s supervision. With sisters much older than me, I naturally stepped into a caregiving role early on. I began babysitting outside my family at 15 and started nannying around 19. I’ve had a lot of hands-on experience with infants, including caring for a 3-week-old foster baby several days a week for a few months, and a 1-week-old I was with consistently for over a year. I also spent about a year and a half working in a preschool, gaining experience with kids of all ages and personalities. I’ve been CPR certified since I began babysitting through the YMCA at 15 (my certification did lapse this April, but I’m still very familiar with the procedures). Beyond childcare, I’m happy to help with light housework, meal prep, and planning age-appropriate activities. What I love most about working with children is seeing how their minds work—how they look at life, how they process things, and those little moments when something clicks for them. It’s the most rewarding type of work to me, and I feel really grateful anytime I get to be part of their world. Let me know if there’s anything else you'd like to know—I’d be happy to answer!😊

Columbus
$25 per hour for 1 child

I was an afterschool coordinator at Gym Skills Lifestyle Center. Before then I spent a year in San jose, California as a City Year success coach as a kid in underfunded neighborhoods. Babysitting is my favorite job so far. I love taking care of the kids. I am very respectful, kind. and smart. I charge a premium rate because I also am good at cleaning, can cook, and can drive. It's worth it. When I babysit I just get to play with the kids and be the responsible adult. I love seeing their personalties come out and the cute things to say. I am from Colombia, South America. Babysitting is not common there because of the danger. Getting to take care of someone else's child for some time is a privilege and I am grateful anytime I get entrusted with the responsibility. It is a privilege. I love caring for them and listening to their stories.

Edy has watched my toddler at GoYoga several times while I’ve taken classes. My little girl is very comfortable with her and I can always trust that she’ll be well-cared for. As a testament to Edy’s character, we’ve actually asked her to come babysit at our house as well.

Sara 2 reviews
Columbus
$15 per hour for 1 child

Hello, my name is Sara, and I moved to the Columbus area with my husband in 2022. I am offering child, senior and pet care along with household services. I would love to take care of children for a living and I currently have one son of my own, born in 2023. I used to babysit a lot when I was in middle school but have not had the privilege very recently. I went into teaching and didn’t enjoy the high number of high school and middle school students in a class. I was also a semi truck driver, but I no longer wish to do either of those things. I am capable of cooking and learning new recipes. I can clean, do laundry, run errands, get groceries, drive to appointments, and help take care of pets. We had three senior dogs when we got married. I had a beagle mix and he had two corgis, sadly they all passed over the rainbow bridge. We enjoyed the time we had with them and now I enjoy my time with Teddy, our terrier mix. I also enjoy spending time with seniors. There is so much to learn from them. One of the greatest joys I had in my life was getting to know and spending time with my grandfather’s first cousin. She was never married, had no siblings, and never had any children, but she lived the fullest life and had so many stories to tell. I also loved to listen to the stories that my grandmother’s neighbor told. At the time, I did not realize his repetitive stories were the first sign of his dementia. It was sad, but he had great stories. I also had a wonderful time spending time with my great grandmother. I always tell people you weren’t old until you hit 90 because of her. She was always sharing secrets with me. I would love the opportunity to assist you with your child, elderly relatives, pets, and/or household services.

Sara is a very caring and thoughtful person. She loves children of all ages as well as those blessed with many years. She is reliable and courteous. She has experience with the young and the young in heart both as a caregiver and a teacher. Sara grew up with dogs and loves all dogs! She would be a great dog walker or sitter.

I used to be an activity assistant at rehabilitation center for the elderly. I watch my friends son at their place. I would wait for her son to get off the bus. Some of the activities that we would do are play hide and seek, draw and color, or just watch some TV. If her son had some activities scheduled I would then take him to his after school activity.

Riley Columbus
$18 per hour for 1 child

Hi families! My name is Riley and I recently moved to Columbus about 15-20 minutes away from all surrounding cities. I have been working with kids for about 6+ years and have worked in 2 daycares as part of that. I enjoy working with all age groups, but ideally prefer the littles. I like to be outside, go for walks, go to the pool, do arts and crafts, read books, listen to music, and am always open to new activities with the kiddos i’m nannying for. I am currently looking for a full time position M-F but open to part time if I am able to have more than one family I work for. I am also CPR-First Aid certified & can provide references! If you feel I would be a good fit for you and your family, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I would love to get to know your family and help out in anyway possible. Thanks! 🙂

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
