Hello! My name is Andrea. I've been professionally working for different childcare organizations and schools for over 15 years now. I have experience working with children of all ages, including toddlers and infants in both an educational and non-educational setting. In college I would babysit/nanny to supplement my student loans. I enjoyed the flexibility of the schedule as well as getting to work with different families. I graduated with a bachelor’s in Physical Activity and Exercise, Health Sciences, and a Master’s in Education. I taught full time for Portland Public Schools for 8 years but have recently decided to explore other career options. I love playing outdoors and being active, but I'm a native Oregonian so I also enjoy rainy day activities when I'm restricted to the indoors. I’m a good cook and leave a clean kitchen when done. *I’m up to date on COVID and Flu shots. Hope to hear from you!

Hi there! My name is Anna and I'm a reporter living in Portland, Oregon. I used UrbanSitter while in college and post graduation, and am now returning after a couple of years working with a few families. I have nearly two years experience working in a daycare center in Portland, and spent 4 months assisting in a school for children with intellectual and physical disabilities abroad. I am very passionate about early childhood education and have worked with various organizations in my hometown on issues affecting youth. I would love the opportunity to get to know you and your kids, whether you’re in town for a weekend or looking for regular evening care. Thanks for reading! Please note, I require 50% payment for same-day cancellations and for any time scheduled but not worked (i.e. returning earlier than scheduled end time). I am often flexible on end times, but I require 1.5x pay for late returns that aren’t mutually agreed to.

Hello :) I'm Shaikha. I have a very nurturing personality. I am a kind, compassionate, collected, soft-spoken, care-giving person. I have babysat for every age between 2 months and 11 years. I work day shifts and date night shifts. The safety of children is very important to me as well as easing the parents’ minds. Therefore, I am communicative and I am happy to text message parents important updates while they are out of the house. I am extremely respectful of every house I enter. I’m happy to answer any questions!

She’s so sweet! My six year old twin boys loved her. She asked great questions about their routines. Will definitely try to book her again. I have a lot of help with childcare and so I’ve never needed to use services like this but it was a great experience.

Hi, I’m a 42 year old female Portland native born and raised in Sellwood. I’m married I have my degree in massage and healing arts. My husband and I have a 18 year old daughter and have two amazing cats. I currently live in multnomah village, and absolutely love living in Portland. I have over 17 years experience working with children ranging from newborn to 12 years of age. I’ve always loved working with kids since I was a teenager my self. I’m a very active person. I especially enjoy being outside, hiking gardening, cooking and reading, art and museums. I’m very passionate about the outdoors and love creating space for the little ones that I watch to explore and go on new adventures. I am CPR trained as well as first aid and a certified preschool teachers assistant. I’ve nannied for many families throughout the years and have plenty of references to provide. I like to think I’m a creative thinker, great problem, solver multitasker and able to teach while having fun. I also have experience with working with the elderly and have been trained in that as well. I’m very much a people person and have an outgoing personality. The reason I enjoy working with children so much is that I believe it brings me as much joy as it does them. I feel it to be a very gratifying job. I think you really have to like what you’re doing to be good at something. Looking forward to meeting your families and their little ones.

Trisha was great with my son.

Hi there! I have a bachelors in both English and Social Justice from Dominican University of California, and am currently a JD Candidate at Lewis &Clark Law School. I grew up watching my siblings before moving on to paid jobs with family friends and cousins, and when I started college I started nannying more seriously. When I lived in LA, I worked with several different families for small weekly jobs and worked with one family four to five days a week, taking their four kids to numerous activities and after school events. Since moving to Portland two years ago, I spent the last year and a half nannying for a family with 10 year old twins. I have experience working with infants up to 12 years old, and after tutoring high school kids I’m sure I could handle teenagers as well. Let me know if I can answer any questions, I can’t wait to work with you!

Kids loved her. My older son said he wanted her to babysit for “30 weeks”

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
