Ma. Chantal $35 per hour for 1 child

Hello! I am a professional educator currently working within the San Diego Unified School District as a TK teacher at a Mandarin immersion school. I have been in the education sector since 2007. I have a Master of Science degree in Education with a Concentration in Literacy and Reading. I am a single parent to a high schooler and a shih tzu. My Professional Background: Teaching experience: I started out my career as an educator as a Child Development Center Assistant then took on the role of an Independence Facilitator. I worked my way up to becoming a teacher while taking Child Development courses, and completing my master's degree as well as a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Specialized experience: I have had the privilege to work as a behavioral therapist (trained in ABA) for five years for private non-profit organizations. Foster care: I proudly served as a foster parent to children with special needs for eight years. My caregiving philosophy: I love being a teacher! It is my absolute pleasure watching young children grow, learn, and meet their developmental milestones. Inside the home, I bring the same organization, loving structure, and accountability that I use in my classroom. For example, I teach my 3-5 year old students how to be responsible by guiding them through routines such as cleaning up after themselves. I ensure every child receives equal and individualized attention tailored to their own unique personality. I love to read, cook, and bake. I enjoy talking with children about random things under the sun. It is my greatest joy to learn from them just as much as they learn from me. I am seeking a rewarding supplemental role and be productive during school breaks and in the afternoons or evenings when I have down time. I am comfortable working in homes with friendly dogs and cats. If you believe my educational background and experience align with your family's needs, I would love to connect!

$25 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 11 families in San Diego, CA

Hi, my name is Nancy and I have been working with children ranging in age from 3 months to 15 years old for approximately 21 years . I have a Teacher permit through the state of California and an Associate in Science degree in the field of Early Childhood Education. Currently I provide early intervention services to children in their homes, working on any developmental delays they have. I coach parents on how to play with their child as part of their daily routine. In addition, I have a business as a special education advocate, helping parents through the IEP process. My child care experience began many years ago as a babysitter for families in my neighborhood. I have always enjoyed working with children and experiencing the joy of watching them grow, learn and explore the world around them. I worked as a nanny in Hawaii while also working as a youth development mentor at the Boys and Girls Club of Maui. My experience teaching at child care centers allowed me the opportunities to care for children as young as 3 months old, which included daily routines of diapering, feeding and napping, as well as reading, singing and soothing. I have experience with tummy time, bottle feeding, determining why an infant may be upset and of course, building a trusting relationship. As the children got older, I was an integral part of their development from crawling and scooting to assisted walking, to walking without assistance; from bottles to cups and finger foods, and language development. A big part of my day was also spent fostering social emotional development Activities that I enjoy doing with children include art, music, dance, gross and fine motor movement, sensory, science, reading and outdoor play. I pride myself on being creative and resourceful when it comes to planning fun activities and keeping children engaged. In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, reading, surfing and other ocean sports. I have recently taken archery lessons and love it! If you are seeking a trustworthy, experienced loving caregiver I hope to hear from you soon and meet your family. Thank you.

Our first visit went great! I found Nancy to be very trustworthy, responsible, and easy to communicate with. Our daughter laughed with her and seemed very comfortable and at ease around her, which was wonderful to see. I felt very reassured by Nancy’s personality and the way she interacted with our daughter, and I definitely plan to use her again in the future!
