Hi! My name is Nadia. I’m the eldest daughter of six so I grew up caring for children throughout my life. I have experience with infants to toddlers to school aged kids. Additionally, I am this school years new 5th grade teacher at REACH Academy in Oakland. I have experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and am CPR and First Aid certified. I bring over three years of formal experience working with children in both school and home settings, including supporting children with diverse behavioral and developmental needs. Working with UrbanSitter I have worked with multiple families and built strong, ongoing relationships. I’m happy to provide references upon request. In my free time, I enjoy art, music (I play guitar), reading, and spending time in nature. I’m very animal-friendly—I have two cats and grew up with dogs. Always happy to facetime or call before booking; I look forward to connecting with you!

Nadia was great, she arrived on time and had great energy. My kids loved playing with her and we'd definitely hire her again.

Hello, my name is Michelle. I am a mother of adult children and a proud grandmother of eight. I have been caring for children for many years, including helping raise my grandchildren from newborn through school age. My oldest grandchild is now 28, and my youngest is 9. I have experience caring for children of all ages, from newborns to school-aged kids. Most recently, I cared for a baby boy for a year until the family relocated. In February, I also helped a family by caring for their 3-year-old and assisting as a mother’s helper after they welcomed a newborn. In addition to childcare, I have experience with school drop-offs and pick-ups, and I am comfortable with flexible, changing schedules. I provide household support services during the evening hours. My responsibilities include folding laundry, meal preparation, cooking dinner, cleaning up after meals, loading and unloading the dishwasher, and vacuuming kitchen and dining areas. I worked with a family in San Francisco for over three years, both before and after COVID. During that time, I assisted with laundry, organizing kitchen cabinets, closets, and children's wardrobes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and preparing vegetables and ingredients for the week. I am flexible and dependable, and I am happy to take on whatever household tasks are needed to help keep a home running smoothly and efficiently. I also provide pet care and dog sitting, as I truly love animals. I am reliable, nurturing, and experienced, and I would be happy to support your family. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. ⸻

Michelle was very punctual and communicative! Thank you Michelle!

Hello! Ive been working with children my entire working life. I began teaching swimming lessons to infants through pre-teens, babysitting infants-toddlers, and working as a high school mentor before going to college. I got a degree in Spanish literature and language in WA state (University of Puget Sound) and taught middle and high school in Andorra as a Fulbright fellow (borders Spain and France). After returning to the US, I went to Stanford to get my Masters in Education and worked with students for seven years across the Bay Area. I now work as a preschool/infant Montessori style educator/nanny, mentor, tutor, and educational consultant, in addition to pursuing my art in fusion dance and vocal performance. I love children, believe it is a life mission to help them feel understood and empowered, and have been described as quite the "Mary Poppins" advice, lullabies, and giant bag included :-) **Update: While I am currently looking for part-time and/or tutoring help, I am also available for occasional babysitting on the weekends/week nights!

Hello! I'm Linda — a trained classical singer, Montessori-informed, and 10-year nanny who genuinely loves the kiddos! I love their hilarious personalities, and believe the care and attention we give them early on shapes everything they become. (Most experience with infants and toddlers) SF native now located in North Oakland, I hold a BA from UC Davis alongside child development coursework — and I'm inspired in my work by Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan, who remind me that nurturing a child's full potential through care, structure, and encouragement is everything. My approach is firm but loving: building trust through warmth, calm guidance, and patience — guiding behavior thoughtfully rather than relying heavily on "no." Two of my ten years were spent caring for twins from infancy to toddlerhood, so I'm well practiced at juggling many demands at once! Infant care is where I feel most at home — sleep training, bottle feeding, gas relief, intro to purees & solids, BLW, tummy time, baby milestone developments, fine and large motor skills, administering medicine, and more. I am vaccinated for COVID, TDAP, and MMR, and CPR-certified for children and infants. I thrive in a collaborative nanny-parent partnership built on trust, open communication, and mutual respect — keeping parents connected through regular updates, photos, and texts, and adapting to each family's unique values and rhythms. My primary role is as a nanny, with a strong focus on nurturing each child's development and growth. I am not seeking a combined nanny + housekeeping/mother's helper position — though I'm open to extra non-child related tasks (clearly set & agreed upon) at a higher rate.* I also love incorporating music into childcare and offer beginner voice lessons! In my 20s I worked for a Bay Area nonprofit that I still volunteer with today. Contract agreements required for jobs 4+ wks. 3-hr minimum ($100 base). Same-day cancellations charged in full.

Hi. My name is Pamela and I have been a childcare provider for over 20 years. When I moved to the Bay Area in 1989, I worked at St. Johns Infant -Toddler Center. From there, I moved to working with preschoolers then finally, I got my teaching credential. I have been working with elementary school children in Oakland since 1993. I love spending time with kids. I make up weekend field trips with my students and dream of having my own weekend outing association for kids in the future. I enjoy taking kids to parks, making up crazy songs and stories and basically being creative. I always bring new, fun things for kids to engage with- clay, cool pop-up books, spinning toys... I feel very comfortable with children and it's mutual. I don't believe in plopping kids in front of a screen when I babysit. I engage them in fun activities and make sure they are never bored. I believe in eating healthy and try to support families if they have that same belief. Go out, have fun and know that your children are in competent hands!
