As a recent graduate of UCSC and moved back to the Bay Area. I am passionate about working with children and have a strong background in educational and caregiving settings. I hold a CPR certification and am eager to continue learning and teaching. Growing up in a family of Montessori educators, I was deeply involved in the school my mother and sister worked at in Pacifica, volunteering and gaining hands-on experience. Over two years, I also worked with Mad Science of the Bay Area, leading after-school and summer programs for children ages 3-12. This experience included engaging activities and educational experiences to foster creativity and learning. Additionally, I have provided nanny care for multiple families, including caring for sets of twins and a family of four, where I was responsible for coordinating activities, preparing meals, and providing tutoring support. Since relocating from Santa Cruz County, I worked at Tara Redwood School as an assistant teacher, supporting children ages 2-9 in a variety of classroom settings. In addition, I have experience dog-sitting and house-sitting, providing a well-rounded skill set in both caregiving and home management. I am excited to continue applying my experience and nurturing qualities to help children grow and thrive.

We've worked with Crystal for a while now and, while I'm behind getting her review in, I can now speak with experience that she is wonderful to work with and very good with our three kids. They look forward to her coming and we feel totally at ease leaving them in her care. We're very grateful for her kind demeanor and thoughtful caretaking!

Hi. My name is Pamela and I have been a childcare provider for over 20 years. When I moved to the Bay Area in 1989, I worked at St. Johns Infant -Toddler Center. From there, I moved to working with preschoolers then finally, I got my teaching credential. I have been working with elementary school children in Oakland since 1993. I love spending time with kids. I make up weekend field trips with my students and dream of having my own weekend outing association for kids in the future. I enjoy taking kids to parks, making up crazy songs and stories and basically being creative. I always bring new, fun things for kids to engage with- clay, cool pop-up books, spinning toys... I feel very comfortable with children and it's mutual. I don't believe in plopping kids in front of a screen when I babysit. I engage them in fun activities and make sure they are never bored. I believe in eating healthy and try to support families if they have that same belief. Go out, have fun and know that your children are in competent hands!

Pamela was great with our 2 year old even though he was sick. We highly recommend Pamela and would love to work with her again.

Caring for children and supporting families is a path I came to through my own upbringing, which gave me a deep appreciation for the importance of emotional support, secure relationships, and attuned caregiving throughout every stage of development. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development from UC Davis, and was recently awarded my Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute. I am currently in a doctoral program, specializing in early childhood development and neurodevelopment disorders. Through my clinical training, I have had the privilege of working alongside children and families, bringing both a strong developmental perspective and genuine warmth to every interaction. My experience caring for children began early and has continued consistently through family, community, and professional caregiving. Over the past 12 years, I have worked with children of various ages and developmental needs, experiences that have shaped an approach grounded in careful observation, thoughtful engagement, and a calm, dependable presence. As a caregiver, I am attentive not only to children's safety and well-being, but also to how they think, feel, and make sense of the world around them. I engage with them intentionally, fostering curiosity, communication, confidence, and emotional awareness through meaningful everyday interactions. My clinical and practicum experiences have further strengthened my ability to meet children where they are developmentally while providing structure, warmth, and consistency. I view caregiving as a meaningful responsibility that requires preparation, sound judgment, and genuine compassion. I would be honored to support a family seeking a caregiver who combines extensive hands-on experience with advanced training in child development and clinical psychology.

Hi, my name is Knar. I was born and raised in San Francisco and currently live in Oakland, with no issues commuting into the city. I have over 15 years of childcare experience and am deeply passionate about providing nurturing, dependable care that supports children’s growth, confidence, and development. My background includes three years working in a daycare setting and twelve years as a full-time nanny, giving me hands-on experience with children across a wide range of ages and stages. I value building close, trusting relationships with both children and parents and take pride in being a steady, supportive presence in a family’s life. My childcare philosophy centers on creating a safe, loving environment with clear structure, consistency, and care so children feel secure and encouraged as they grow. I am family-oriented, patient, respectful, and highly communicative, and I believe open and honest communication is the foundation of a strong partnership. In addition to childcare, I am happy to assist with light household tasks such as baby laundry and dishes, introducing solids, supporting developmental milestones, and tailoring care to each child’s unique needs. Availability update: I have a full-time position and am not currently available, but I appreciate you taking the time to view my profile.
