Hi my name is Perla and I am a single mom that is going back to school to obtain a speech and language pathology certification. My bachelors degree is in child and adolescent development. I am pet friendly and have pets of my own and am excited to work with families while my kiddos are at school. My kiddos are 6 and 8 so I have plenty of first hand experience as well. Four boys gave me plenty of practice. Sibling disputes don't rattle me. Seniors: My time with Summerlin gave me deep respect for older adults. I bring patience, dignity, and a good ear. Pets: I share my home with a chihuahua, cats, and a very energetic lab. I also foster kittens. Small dogs have big opinions, and labs have endless energy. I keep up with both. Household help: I run a busy home of five. Schedules, meals, and daily logistics are second nature. I'm calm, organized, and warm. I'm a certified life coach, so listening is part of how I work. My formal education background is in art history so I love encouraging creativity in children. I have been babysitting since I was 11 (starting as an assistant to my older sister). I love getting to know the child's interest and joining them in their play. With my past families, I began watching them as infants and into their toddler years. With some of the children, we had a great time building forts or lego cities of their dreams! In the past, I've taken the Red Cross Babysitting certification which breaks down the stages of child development. It also taught signs of emergency situations. I've also grown up with many cousins and was lucky to gain experience babysitting them at all ages. I've also had past experience in cat sitting which was very minimal (feeding, ensuring medication was taken, and cleaning litter). I believe I've gained more insight now that I live with two cats aged 1 and 3! I also spent a summer cleaning vacation rentals within an allotted three hour window with provided supplies. When it comes to cleaning, I pride myself in being very detailed oriented.
