I am a career nanny and have been working with children in their homes for over 18 years. I love caring for infants but also love taking toddlers out to explore the world. Watching children learn and grow never gets old!
My formal education background is in art history so I love encouraging creativity in children. I have been babysitting since I was 11 (starting as an assistant to my older sister). I love getting to know the child's interest and joining them in their play. With my past families, I began watching them as infants and into their toddler years. With some of the children, we had a great time building forts or lego cities of their dreams! In the past, I've taken the Red Cross Babysitting certification which breaks down the stages of child development. It also taught signs of emergency situations. I've also grown up with many cousins and was lucky to gain experience babysitting them at all ages. I've also had past experience in cat sitting which was very minimal (feeding, ensuring medication was taken, and cleaning litter). I believe I've gained more insight now that I live with two cats aged 1 and 3! I also spent a summer cleaning vacation rentals within an allotted three hour window with provided supplies. When it comes to cleaning, I pride myself in being very detailed oriented.
Welcome — my name is Michael! I’m an educator, parent, and lifelong caregiver with over 25 years of experience working with children, seniors, plants, and cats. I hold a master’s degree in Public Administration and completed all coursework for a master’s in the Art of Teaching. Over the years, I’ve raised five children and numerous godchildren, coached youth sports, and led art, tutoring, and community programs that center creativity and care. I love the outdoors, plants, cooking, music, and meditation — and I bring that same balance and joy into the homes I support. Families describe me as calm, reliable, and nurturing, with a structured yet easygoing approach that helps everyone feel at ease. I’m happy to cook and do light cleaning, but I’m not a housekeeper — no deep cleaning. I’m great with cats and plants, and I’m still working on overcoming my fear of dogs. I look forward to connecting with families who value kindness, growth, and good energy in their home.
Focused on fun & compassion! I've cared for and worked with children and youth from zero to 20yrs as a caregiver, skill builder, adventure leader, teacher, ally and confidant. Experienced & supportive of people in multiple expressions of neurodiversity & disability. Willing to help develop authentic personal accommodations. I left the corporate world 2 years ago to refocus on what is beautiful and important in this world. Human relationships, appreciation of the natural world, building compassion & strengthening communities in our urban environment.
Hello! My name is Jenni. I am a mother of both a 26 year old and a 9 year old. I homeschool and volunteer at a nearby school (elementary age). I have a passion for baking, arts, audio books, and playing with our family’s boxer puppy. I moved to Vancouver 4 years ago. Before this, I was a manager of a daytime program for people with developmental disabilities. I worked in this field for approximately 15 years. In addition, I also worked in a facility for elderly adults; ADL’s, end of life care, and medication assistance. I’ve dabbled in insurance, accounting, and other jobs. However, I always go back to working with people.. both children and adults. I love dogs and cats as well. I currently have a boxer puppy with tons of energy! I’d love to share the love with other dogs and cats as well!

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
