***JUST RETURNING AFTER SOME TIME OFF. IF I MISSED YOUR MESSAGE, I’LL BE IN TOUCH SOON!
Hi! I’m Mel, your child’s future best friend, and I’m here to make your life a little bit easier! ☺️
I’m a warm, proactive, engaging, and highly experienced childcare professional with 15+ years of experience caring for children of all ages, from brand-new babies to teenagers and just about every stage in between.
My approach to childcare is rooted in the belief that kids deserve to feel safe, respected, understood, and supported. I love getting to know who each child actually is: their personality, interests, quirks, sense of humor, strengths, and the things that make them light up. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to children, and that’s one of my favorite things about this work.
I have a strong background in child development and a particular interest in child psychology, emotional regulation, and helping children build confidence and independence. I also have extensive experience caring for neurodivergent children, including children with ADHD and autism, and I’m comfortable adapting routines, communication, activities, and expectations to meet each child where they are.
I’m equally happy getting silly on the floor with little ones, planning adventures and creative activities with bigger kids, helping with homework, navigating a tough emotional moment, or hanging out with a teenager who is far too cool to admit they enjoy having me around.
Beyond childcare, I bring a lot to a household. I have a medical background and am CPR/BLS certified, along with extensive experience in household management, home organization, meal planning, and cooking. I’m a confident personal chef, a passionate organizer, and someone who genuinely enjoys bringing a little order to the chaos of busy family life. Whether that means keeping household tasks on track, reorganizing a playroom, prepping meals, tackling an overflowing closet, or simply noticing what needs to be done and taking care of it, I love helping families make their homes and routines run more smoothly.
Most importantly, I take the trust families place in me seriously. I want parents to feel completely comfortable knowing their children are safe, cared for, and in capable hands while they’re with me.
Every family is different, and I’d love to hear about yours, your children, your routines, and what would make your life run a little more smoothly. It takes a village, and I’d love to be part of yours.
