Hi there! I'm Sophia, and I'm a junior at PSU (age 23) studying environmental studies and child & family studies. I'm a lifelong Portlander, and am hoping to enter the outdoor education field after college. I've been babysitting for 10 years now, caring for children ages 3 months to 12 years. I also have experience as a daycare teacher (8 months at My Bundle of Joy in NE Portland), nanny, tutor, and camp counselor. I'm energetic, creative and attentive, and I really do love kids. I would love to do art, read, dance/sing, cook, go on walks, visit the library, or go on outdoor adventures with your kiddo(s)! I'm certified in Pediatric First Aid & CPR, and enrolled in Oregon's Central Background Registry. I do have a driver's license, but I do not have a car. I'm happy to do pick-ups/drop-offs and any other outings with your own car, on foot, via public transportation, or even on bike! *** 1/11/26 I’m back on Urban Sitter after a few years, so that’s why my reviews are not recent, but I’ve continued to do plenty of consistent childcare in the meantime. I’m happy to provide more recent references if you’d like :)

Sophia is very sweet and polite. She followed all instructions and took great care of my 11 month-old. I hope she will babysit for us again sometime!

New to Portland, OR, I moved here with my husband and two cats from Nashville, TN so I could study naturopathic medicine at NUNM. Before starting medical school, I worked as a professional nanny and part-time babysitter for 4 years after graduating from Vanderbilt University with my bachelors. I’ve cared for children of all ages from infant to pre-teen and we always find a way to have fun and learn new to things! My responsibilities have included meal prep, drop off and pick up from school or camp, morning and nighttime routines, and general tidying of the house. I would describe myself as punctual, professional, and flexible under pressure. I have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. I have also house sat and dog watched for a family I had nannied for, where my duties included checking food and water, administering medicine, and taking her for walks. With my variable school schedule, I’m looking for one-time or part-time childcare or pet-care positions. I hope you find me to be a good fit!

Hannah $23 per hour for 1 child

Hi, my name is Hannah and I love working with kids! I have over 17 years of collective experience in a variety of different child care positions, including summer camps, babysitting, and nannying. I previously worked as a preschool teacher at a Waldorf school. Kids are fun, wise, and inspire me to be imaginative and creative, and that's why I love working with them. Safety, patience, and creativity are what feel sparkly and important to me when I'm watching your children. I have a Master's degree in urban planning and am currently undergoing Waldorf Educator training. My other interests include herbalism, birding, painting and drawing. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Hello there, hope this finds you well. Looking for a temp/part time nanny? I may very well be the nanny for you. I am a trained and qualified nanny. My schooling was completed in England, some 20+ years ago, where i completed my NNEB, since then I have worked for numerous families, both here and abroad. Being a nanny is something I enjoy. Guiding and helping children learn and grow through play is extremely rewarding, as is helping parents/families navigate the wonders of parenthood/ work/ life. I have great references. I am currently working for a family in Lake Oswego. These guys I have been working with for the last 16yrs. They have 3 children, who are now all school age. I work all week day afternoons with them, and some school holidays. I am currently looking for temp/ part time work. I have weekday mornings available, some evenings, and weekends. I'll be sure to keep the calendar updated, but feel free to ask if i have availability not shown. What do I do in my free time...spend time with friends. I love hiking, reading, yoga, exploring the coast. Getting to see live music, trying the wonderful food Portland has to offer, and gardening.( currently thinking about the planting plan for said garden) I also like to plan a trip back to England every other year. If that doesn't happen, then Hawaii is never far from my mind. Ps, not sure where the senior care came from, but I am not proficient in that field. Just letting you know. Thanks.

Hanna $16 per hour for 1 child

Hi! My name is Hanna. I’m a graduate college student with a degree in English, currently living in Northeast Portland. I come from a big, loving family with four rowdy brothers, so I’m no stranger to energetic households! My childcare experience began in high school, where I spent my junior and senior years nannying a toddler with fetal alcohol syndrome. It was some of the most challenging, yet rewarding, work I’ve ever done. Since then, I’ve cared for children ranging from infants to middle schoolers. At my local church, I’ve volunteered in nursery care, taught classes, and mentored middle school students over the years. I also worked closely with special needs students in high school—participating in P.E. classes, supporting talent shows, and building strong, inclusive friendships. Currently, I work as a substitute teacher and also as a barista at Starbucks, where I love greeting people with a smile and helping make their day a little brighter. As a mom myself, I know how important it is to create a safe, nurturing environment. I’m available for babysitting during the summertime and on weekends. I look forward to connecting with families in need of dependable, experienced care.
