Status: Currently accepting not jobs A few things to note: -I generally try not to book more than a month out at a time to avoid potential cancellations. Thank you for your understanding! -If you can -- booking via the site instead of text is easier for me to track. -I offer petsitting and housesitting and can pass along specific references for those services as well. Thank you! ———————————————— Now (a lot!) more about me -- Experience: I'm fully vaccinated (Covid + rest) with over 14 years of experience with ages ranging from 2 months - 13+ years. I am *currently* a part-time substitute teacher in the greater Portland area. I've fulfilled a number of roles over the years, including full-time nanny, part-time sitter, a date night sitter, and personal assistant to the family. I have experience with full-time infant-care (transitioning to solid foods, preparing formula, etc), as well as balancing the routines of multiple children at once. I have been the "first babysitter" for kids with a range of ages, including baby, toddler, and early elementary. Skills/schoolwork: In addition to teaching, I have a background in elementary (basic math, spelling) and high school-level tutoring (grammar and algebra), both through private employment & volunteer work. I'm also familiar with how to adapt lesson plans to suit different needs (specifically dyslexia and ADHD). Activities: I love non-media based activities such as board games, arts and crafts, drawing, reading, and sports, but I never shy away from a good movie night! I also enjoy anything outdoors or active (parks, hiking, biking, museums, libraries, etc.). Growing up I was a theater kid who played softball and lacrosse — probably another skill or two to mine in there somewhere :) Additional: In my spare time, I'm likely backpacking, traveling, or attempting to catch up on the never-ending list of books, movies, and shows that I'm behind on. I also volunteer with WaterDropLA (mutual aid on Skid Row) and WriteGirl (weekly mentoring, assisting seniors with post-grad guidance/college apps).

Sierra was amazing. She took great care of my active son. He loved her!

Hello! My name is Mary and I'm excited to start working with you. I have a BA in English Lit with a minor in French. After graduating college I spent a year in France teaching English to French high schoolers. Before doing that I was a reading tutor and baby sat for many wonderful families, including families with autistic and ADHD sons. I have also worked as a skills coach for developmentally disabled adults and feel comfortable working with kids of different ability levels. My motto as a caregiver is patients, compassion, and most importantly having fun will make everyone's experience great. I am also a professional baker and pastry cook, and love to cook for kids or with them! I've been living in Portland for about 5 years now and I love this beautiful city and all it has to offer. In my spare time I like to go biking with my boyfriend, go on hikes, sketch (mostly flowers and nature stuff), read, and write poetry. I also love superhero movies, cartoons, and photography. I would love to get a chance to get to know your family.

Booked by 3 families in Portland, OR

Hi there! I'm Sophia, and I'm a junior at PSU (age 23) studying environmental studies and child & family studies. I'm a lifelong Portlander, and am hoping to enter the outdoor education field after college. I've been babysitting for 10 years now, caring for children ages 3 months to 12 years. I also have experience as a daycare teacher (8 months at My Bundle of Joy in NE Portland), nanny, tutor, and camp counselor. I'm energetic, creative and attentive, and I really do love kids. I would love to do art, read, dance/sing, cook, go on walks, visit the library, or go on outdoor adventures with your kiddo(s)! I'm certified in Pediatric First Aid & CPR, and enrolled in Oregon's Central Background Registry. I do have a driver's license, but I do not have a car. I'm happy to do pick-ups/drop-offs and any other outings with your own car, on foot, via public transportation, or even on bike! *** 1/11/26 I’m back on Urban Sitter after a few years, so that’s why my reviews are not recent, but I’ve continued to do plenty of consistent childcare in the meantime. I’m happy to provide more recent references if you’d like :)

Sophia is very sweet and polite. She followed all instructions and took great care of my 11 month-old. I hope she will babysit for us again sometime!

Booked by 1 family in Portland, OR

Hello all! My name is Krysta and I'm on the look out for a new family! I've been in childcare for almost 9 years and a private nanny for almost 7 years. I do have a 2.5 year old boy (06/03/2021) who has come along with me since he was 8 weeks old. Before I was a nanny I was a lead at a popular Portland based in-home daycare where I oversaw the care of 16 infants and 3 other workers. Our ratio was 4:1. I have experience with multiples and my last nanny share job was with 4 kiddos- a set of twins, a singleton and my own son, Theo. I love creating long term bonds with children along with their families as I see myself as an extension of them. Some of my skills are as follows: • CPR and first aid trained and in the ORO database, clean driving record with a safe and reliable car. • Supporting children in play activities, meals and snacks, hygiene and socialization. • Assisting with light housekeeping duties as well as running errands. Organization and cleaning up the home after activities by picking up toys and straightening up play rooms. • Building positive and nurturing environments to support child's social and emotional growth. • Preparing tasty and healthy meals for children to encourage good eating habits. • Engaging with children on an age-appropriate level. Balancing playtime to help support development of fine motor, and cognitive skills Getting outside, puddle jumping, singing silly songs, dancing crazy dances, block building, imagination play, arts and crafts are some of my favorite things
