My childcare journey began at 12, babysitting in my church nursery, but it was my younger brother’s birth when I was 13 that truly ignited my passion for caring for little ones. Helping raise him next to a hard working single mother showed me how much I love nurturing and guiding children through their early years. Since then, I’ve gained over ten years of experience as a nanny, overnight caregiver, home manager, and preschool teacher. I’ve also worked as a professionally trained doula, further deepening my understanding of child development and family support. I’m also an active person and grew up participating in team sports, including soccer and swim team, which taught me the value of energy, focus, and teamwork—qualities I bring to my caregiving. I love creating fun, engaging moments to help kids learn, grow, and explore their world. With confidence, patience, and a second nature for childcare, I’m here to provide your little ones with exceptional care and attention.

A nanny working for one family looking to share with another young family. The family lives in the Richmond neighborhood of SE and consists of two boys ages 4 (soon to be five) and 7. They are watched by the nanny during the workweek, roughly 4 hours, five days a week. The four year old will be starting kindergarten this coming Friday and the 7 year old started second grade this week! Some of the things the boys love are, going for walks to the park, legos, reading books, science projects, baking, making art and building. Mom works from home so can help out in an emergency. Family can host part or all the time. Hi! My name is Kristin and I have worked in education for almost 20 years. I worked with teens and adults with hearing and sight disabilities at Perkins School for the Blind, in Boston for 8 years before moving to Portland 9 years ago. I have worked at a small Charter School for 8 years where I created and directed an aftercare arts program and then worked as an educational assistant for the school, mostly in the K-1 classrooms. I have worked at a Montessori school with toddlers and infants. I have been nannying for four years and have experience with children from 6 months old to 7 years old! I am a fun, silly and creative person who loves being outside, gardening, animals, cooking and painting. I am passionate about education and creating a safe and loving space for children and adults to learn and grow.

I have worked with Kristin for 6 years. She is a kind, caring and compassionate person who loves working with children. And children adore her. She appreciates each child's uniqueness and has a special ability to connect with them. Kristin adapts quickly to differing needs and situations with a positive attitude. I have witnessed her working with everyone from individual children to groups or classrooms of students. Kristin is an artist who uses her love of the arts to teach and engage others through various mediums. She loves to have fun, whether it is dancing with kids, playing games or as simple as getting totally engaged reading a book to them. The way in which Kristin engages with children, any family would be lucky to have their children spending time with her. In the words of a former student "she treats everyone like family."

I have been a nanny and youth educator for over 10 years. Working with children of a variety of ages — 3 months to 15 years. My specialty is creativity and nature connection. I bring a sense of adventure and place and compassionate care for social emotional skills to my work. I take my job seriously, and because of my life as an educator I like to make any mundane day an event with an opportunity for learning and bonding. Professionally I teach drama, creativity, outdoor education for youth, and I guide a therapeutic embodiment practice for adults. I also work in the creative field as a performing artist and on all sides of event production. Because of this I marked weekend evenings as not generally available, however I am flexible at this time and will adjust for the right family! Finally, I am good at organizing and cleaning up a space. I am currently on the market for a car and could then run errands, etc.

Indigo was the undisputed favorite babysitter of my twins when they were in early elementary school. Indigo was reliable, responsible and a great communicator with me. I knew that my kids would be safe and well-cared for when I left them with Indigo. But what really set Indigo apart was her creativity and obvious enjoyment spending time with kids. My kids really had fun when they spent an evening or an entire day with Indigo. They still play some of the games Indigo taught them and howl with laughter. I’d hire Indigo again in a heartbeat.
